Property address: 309 Claghorn Place. Claghorn Place is located off Congress between North and Park. It is a quiet cul-de-sac street, less than 3 blocks to beach, Washington Street Mall, town. Charming cape cod style with modern, fully equipped kitchen, updated bathrooms, outdoor shower , wonderful front porch with rocking chairs, washer, dryer, yard, off street parking. Available year round. nightly/weekends- weekly in season.
As a extra, I buy season beach tags and allow my guests to use them during their stay. They must be returned at the end of their stay. This person either lost or discarded the tags. Now states never saw them. I acutally split the cost of new tickets with her and took a loss. She was treated very fairly. I'm sorry she feels that way.

We stayed at this property for the 4th of July week in 2012.
There were 7 of us: 3 toddlers and 4 adults, and there was plenty of room for everyone.
The house is nicely kept, with probably all the things one might need while on vacation, including beach chairs, beach umbrellas (old ones, but they worked great for us), bikes (beaters though, but did the job), drying rack outside, boogie boards, all the dishware, silverware, cleaning sullies, etc. There is an air conditioner in every room, including a very powerful one in the living room. There is a roomy nicely kept backyard with green grass, and a very nice outdoor shower (with warm water), that we used all the time. There is a patio up in the front, with a table and 4 nice chairs, and there is a gas grill. The grill is a little older, but once you get a hang of it, grilling was great!
There were several things that we absolutely loved about the property:
1. It is located at almost the end of a dead end street (one of the very few in Cape May), so this means there was almost no traffic, accept for the people looking for parking. This made it a great place for kids to play, and for parents not to worry about the cars that much.
2. The house is located literally 5 minutes walk to the beach, to the Center Washington Mall (center street in Cape May), to stores, to pharmacy, to hardware store, to bike rental, to the park where the musicians perform lice, to most of the best restaurants, etc. So we only used the car a couple times to get groceries! It was great!
3. The fireworks are 100% visible right from the porch.
And one more thing, the owner was very available, and even stopped by to address one issue we had (nothing major, should have read the manual).
So the bottom line is, we really enjoyed the vacation, and the place, and would love to go back there again! I think that it would be very hard to find such a nice place in such a nice location in Cape May.
1. Make sure you bring baby gates if you use them, as the stair case is very steep.
2. One upstairs bedroom doesn't have doors, just the curtains, so not a good place for a toddler. In our case adults stayed there.
3. Internet was working on and off, could be because of all the storms in the area at that time. We actually enjoyed it to be without internet for some time. (still had it on our phones though)
I rented this house with my girlfriends in June 2010. The stay was overall great, the house well located, kitchen well equiped ok maintained, however some other equipment for the beach would have been very useful. We left the house all cleaned and sparkling (in better state than when we arrived).
When it came to give us our deposit back, the owner first agreed to reimburse us the whole deposit + cleaning fees. Then he said that he lost some beach tags in the house so he will charge us the beach tags ($100). Total nonsense. When you can't remember where you put your things it is your responsibility ; he could also say there was gold somewhere and charge us for it. At the end, he did not reimburse us at all, no cleaning fees, no deposit. It ended up costing us more than the original price. I don't recommend dealing with this owner.
My family and I enjoyed this rental property tremendously! The owner was extremely easy to deal with. We had one concern with the internet and a circuit blew, however, he returned our call immediately and issue resolved in just a few minutes. The house is adorable, comfortable and decorated tastefully and very well maintained and is the perfect location. You park your car and no need to drive any where, you walk or ride your bikes to beach, shopping, mini golf, restaurants, or just relax on the front porch and speaking of the front porch it was a front row seat for the 4th of July fireworks which were wonderful. Really affordable rental property at the nicest beach in New Jersey. I have been a New Jersey resident all my life and have visited just about every beach community. Cape May is the best yet. I will definitely rent this property again, my only recommendation would be to update the bicycles, beach chairs and a few window ac units. But if you are looking for a great getaway in Cape May this rental is one you should consider. The cul de sac makes for such a quiet relaxing spot but yet only two blocks from all the attractions. Fantastic time for us and we cant wait to rent this house again. One week was just not enough. Thank you !! Thank you!! Thank you!!
We rented this location as a last minutes Memorial Day getaway. I have to begin by stating that the rental is beautifully kept, both in and out. It is located about 10 blocks from the beach and you can either walk or drive however; either way you will have good scenery. The beach is also very nice and I must say that we all enjoyed our overall stay.
