Why Cheryl Price chose Long Melford

We came to Long Melford for a weeks holiday 3 years ago and before leaving for home had arranged to buy Stone Cottage. Not only is Long Melford the perfect Suffolk Village with fantastic restaurants, pubs, tea rooms, independent shops and art galleries but Stone Cottage provides an escape at any time of year. With walks from the door and 2 log burners it' wonderful whatever the season.

What makes this house unique

Cosy, romantic, dog and child friendly

Guestbook comments from the owner

Much enjoyed the log fires. Very cost cottage, one of the best we have stayed in over 30 years!

Typical cottage in a lovely village

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is so well placed in the middle Hall Street. Bus stop is just outside. Co-op is just over the road, fish & chip shop about a minutes walk. On same side is a small bakery and a very good charity shop a bit further up. Plenty of pubs and eating places to choose from. The cottage is well equipped especially the kitchen. Main bedroom is a nice size with a small en suite. Lovely bathroom downstairs. There is a little place for the washer dryer between the kitchen and bathroom. There is a back door in kitchen leading to the garden that has a table and chairs and a little summerhouse. Sudbury is only 3 miles away where there is a branch station line going to Ipswich or Colchester and London via Marks Tay. We felt at home right away. Missed having a tv in the bedroom and would have liked a bigger screen tv for front room, but they are just minor things. We would definately go back to that cottage.

Apart from the weather we still managed to do lots of gardens & houses that are normally shut in January so ticked lots of boxes for us

Lovely place

  • 3 of 5

This cottage has always been very special to us but the standards of cleanliness have declined and spoilt the start to our holiday. How do people clean with cold water as the boiler had packed up is beyond me however that was rectified shortly but house keeper was not polite about the standards welcomed

Lives up to expectations and more

Another wonderful relaxing weeks holiday at Stone Cottage. Cheryl has made it a real home from home and all your needs are met. The two dogs settle quickly and enjoy the walks nearby. Very well positioned for exploring Suffolk and Norfolk and the weather made the stay even better.

Thanks Cheryl for the goodie basket also, much appreciated.

Look forward to our next visit in November.

Another wonderful week in Stone Cottage. Cheryl provides everything you could need in the cottage and the weather was kind to us too! This was our third time in the cottage and I'm sure not our last!
