About The Owner

Mark and Ashley are a husband and wife team that have one foot planted firmly in Chicago. As a former Chicago resident for 10 years, Ashley has both friends and family in Chicago. We have twins who love to visit Chicago! They both know that Dad's favorite building is the Hancock.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2008

Why The Owner chose Chicago

There is only one Gold Coast in Chicago and this historical building is in the heart of it. Our endeavor started out with simply wanting a place to stay when we would visit and eventually use in retirement. We love Chicago and all the City has to offer...from great food, to world class shopping, to museums, architecture, sports, name it and Chicago has it all.

What makes this apartment unique

The location cannot be beat. Chicago's epicenter for nightlife is at the end of the block with fabulous restaurants like Gibson's, Tavern On Rush, Morton's, etc. coming together in a perfect triangular parklike setting. If you want to feel like a true Chicago resident in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Chicago, this is the place. The tree-lined street is a perfect prelude to your arrival at this historical building. Shopping on Michigan Avenue is just a block away as well. It's an AMAZING location!

Very nice condo located in one of the best neighborhoods in the city! Perfect for two people wanting to explore the best Chicago has to offer. If you have three or four people probably not the best set up. The fold out couch is worn out and even with the foam pad top it is still not all that comfortable for adults. Would probably work for two kids. They did have a blow up mattress which we did not use because of the limited floor space in the living room. We would highly recommend this condo for a couple!

Great location quiet street fantastic neighborhood

This property met our expectation as listed in the website. Nice kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Nice secure location. We used Spothero to arrange parking about 5 blocks away as the link provided for parking did not work. The lot nearby was recommended but it seemed small and we wanted to be sure we had reserved spot before we arrived. I would not rent with these individuals again as they did not respond to phone messages and e mails let numerous times. I had billing questions that I needed clarification and never got a response. We could not get the TV I need the living room to work and called their number and they never called back. This was not a big problem but I had no confidence that if a plumbing or security issue came up that we would receive timely support from them.

A lovely condo on a quiet street right next to everything!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely condo on Cedar St. right between Rush Street and the Lake! Everything is in walking distance and we love to walk! There are restaurants galore in Chicago, having more 5 star restaurants than any other place in the country. We love Chicago Deep Dish Pizza and Lou Malnatti's is just 1/2 a block away! Uno's and Due's just a few blocks down State Street. The Original Morton's Steak House is also just a block away with the finest steaks anywhere! We had everything we needed in the condo, including a very comfortable king size bed, a priority for us. The neighborhood is elegant and quiet and we loved walking along Oak Street Beach. Michigan Avenue (the Mag Mile) is just a 1/2 block away and we love strolling down to the Hancock Center, Water Tower Place and then farther down across the river to the world famous Art Institute, always a must for us Do take the Architectural Boat Cruise up the river. Chicago is world famous for it's architecture. All in all, we loved staying here and hope to return to this condo on future trips to this wonderful windy city!

Unbeatable location plus a great property

You can't beat this location, less than 100 yards to the intersection of Rush and State Street. A number of the best restaurants in all of Chicago are within 1-2 blocks, only a few minute walk to John Hancock Center, and at the north end of the Magnificent Mile of North Michigan. The brownstone flat is great too: hardwood floors, modern kitchen, and all the comforts (and room) of a Chicago brownstone. We just wish we were able to stay at the house more to enjoy it, but perfect for business travelers or vacationers. Definitely our home of choice for our next trip to Chicago and we would recommend to anyone visiting. Plus our hosts were very helpful and responsive with booking questions as well as house information, neighborhood, restaurants, etc.

Beautiful Property in one of the most exclusive areas in Downtown Chicago!

Well maintained, updated, beautiful property. Location is second to none, on a beautiful quiet street in the Goldcoast area. A short walk to Gibson's, Tavern on Rush, The Pancake House, and off the shopping on the Miracle mile. We will be returning.
