The house (160 m2) is part of an ancient palazzo which houses in total 3 homes. It is located in the medieval village Pieve di Monti di Villa, where time stands still. We have renovated the home in March 2015 and re-used lots of the antique furniture.
The house is build on a hill, and the main part of the house is on the top floor from where you have spledid views over the mountains.
The house has 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms with a toilet and shower.
There is a large terrace/balcony for dinners and a lovely garden to relax.
There is a big living room with a fireplace, dining room and a kitchen.
The village is car-free, but a parking space is next to our home.
Rifugio Fiori is two minutes by foot, where you can eat great Tuscan food and pizza for lunch and dinner.
A public swimming pool, shops and more restaurants can be found in Bagni di Lucca, a 10 minute drive by car.
We are a family with 2 girls (6/4 years old). We just love Italy and in 2015 finally found our dream home.
The Owner purchased this house in 2015
It is the house that met all our criteria
- characteristic house
- 160 m2
- quiet location, but not isolated
- 1 hour drive from Florence and Pisa airport
- spledid views
- great hiking possibilities
- lucca is a 40 minute drive
- 1 hour from the sea (viareggio)
- 45 minutes from Abetone ski resort
The views from the terrace and the large living room.
It is located in an medieval village which gives immediately a very romatic atmosphere when you arrive.
No cars inside the village and a parkinspace next door.
What a beautiful house. Very comfortable and well organised down to small details ensuring a stress and trouble free stay. We loved the terrace where we had our meals and admired the glorious view. It was so peaceful and we were happy to be able to spend some time watching and listening to the birds. The village is lovely as is the surrounding countryside. We were also able to visit Lucca, Pisa and Florence. We were all sorry to leave! Thank you very much
Many personal and useful touches including: bottle of wine with crayoned welcome note created by owner's children; many food cupboard staples, especially coffee and tea, made first morning easier before we had opportunity to shop; great CD music selection; comfortable beds. We would have liked window screens, larger kitchen, use of a fourth, private, bedroom.
We enjoyed and recommend: walking the marked, pastoral pathway from village down to Bagni di Lucca, about 1 hour for those in good condition; drive up to Monti di Villa and then Montafegatesi to see Dante's head and Corsica on a clear day; Biribisso restaurant in Granaiola.
This is a large, characterful house in a charming Tuscan village. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor space and the views of the hills and mountains are breathtaking. Nearby Bagni Di Lucca has a range of facilities including supermarkets and a large well-maintained outdoor Swimming Pool. This a great location because places like Lucca, Florence, Pisa and coastal Viareggio are all accessible by Car - and we also noticed serviced by public transport, though I would recommend a car for this trip. This is an ideal location for relaxing, walks, activities like horse-riding, swimming, or exploring local towns and mountain villages, and in general taking in the beautiful scenery. My family and I loved our holiday here and would like to return
