Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great time at Woody's cabin! The cabin itself it beautiful and spacious. The surrounding property is gorgeous, with lots of open land and trees and great scenery of the mountains. We took our dog on some long walks on the winding dirt roads in the neigborhood. Our dog had a great time too! He watched out the windows for squirrels and chipmunks, one of his favorite activities. Sitting on the deck having coffee was one of the best parts, just so relaxing and peaceful. I would love to go back sometime. Thanks Woody!

Awesome Getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

What a great place! It was my base camp for a week in South Park. Great back patio and swing, awesome deck in front. Stars so close I wanted to reach up and grab one! Couldn't have an outside fire because of the fire ban in place. GREAT BED I SLEPT SO WELL!! Very nice place, my grandkids enjoyed the stick teepee on the property(I enjoyed it too!). It is a long way off the pavement, good shocks on your vehicle will help with the washboard road. Thanks for sharing your place with us!

Awesome place!!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed there for 3 nights. It was awesome place to get some vacation. We enjoyed a lot. Loved the house and the place.

The map works the best as the place does not really have a good reception for gps.

Property was clean and very welcoming.

Fairplay Beach, a lake in Fairplay

Gold medal waters fishing, lake fishing. ATV, 4 wheeling, snow shoeing, snowmobiling, elk and dear hunting, hiking, and campfires.

Explore Colorado's gold rush history. Fish the famous trout waters of the South Platte, or the 6 lakes of the area. Challenge your yourself and ATV or Jeep to the Mosquito and Georgia Passes. Raft the Arkansas, soak in the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs, ski Breckenridge, or hike the Lost Creek Wilderness. All from our exciting location.

THE AREA: Located in the Indian Mountain/Elkhorn Ranches area of South Park in central Colorado, it is near the small and quaint towns of Jefferson, Como, Tarryall, Alma, and Fairplay. A little further out, but still less than an hour's drive, are well-known resort areas like Breckenridge, Buena Vista, and Eleven Mile Reservoir.

Wildlife is plentiful around our private cabin; we have seen deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, fox, beaver, bobcat, coyote, owl, hawk, loads of hummingbird, and an occasional small bear. In addition, the fields and Aspen stands surrounding our cabin are adorned with over ten varieties of alpine wildflowers, depending on the season. Bison ranches nearby to delight all.

You haven't lived if you've never seen the Milky Way from the deck of the cabin. Star gazing from our deck is indescribable. Moon and meteors too! We provide binoculars for night or day gazing. If the evening is cool out on the deck, just fire up the wood burning stove or firepit!

EXTRAS: The cabin has every modern amenity you might desire, including 120 channel Dish network including a wide variety of music, HDTV with Blue ray DVR, and more. It was built in 2005 and furnished as our family's home-away-from-home, using real leather couches and comfortable mattresses. We pay attention to every detail.

Stay busy or relax in serenity, this area has it all. We hope you will come and enjoy it from our special cabin.
