Great property, perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived the homefelt atmosphere was impossible to ignore. My kids even began to call it home. The McElwee's have a wonderful property and it's clear that they take great care of it. The cabin has amazing lake views and the deck was a perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and the sunrise. The dock was a great place to take a dip but it was also the focal point for most of our fishing expeditions... including several early morning trips across the lake in the row boat. My 9 year old managed to catch a 3 pound bass right under the dock and I landed another just up the shore line. This property was exactly what we were looking for... we will most definitely be back!

Great view on the lake!

  • 5 of 5

The property is fantastic, sitting 100 feet from the edge of the lake. View is great in the morning when the sun starts to rise. Caught a few small mouth bass right across the lake and had some deer come up to the porch. We had great weather and were able to grill up some burgers. Living room was a good hang out size for our evenings and there were plenty of beds available.

I'd keep it on the list to return to in the coming years.

Perfect Cozy Cabin

  • 5 of 5

My family and I recently spent a long weekend at this cozy cabin overlooking beautiful Lake Wallenpaupack. This cabin & property was exactly what we had hoped it would be - quiet, peaceful, neat, clean and beautiful. The views through the large picturesque window in the living room were stunning! The fireplace was so easy to use and really kept us warm. The kitchen was stocked with dishes, condiments, cleaning supplies and everything you need to cook or bake. The bedrooms were clean and the beds were more comfortable than we had expected. Our 3 children LOVED the loft area!!! They spent much of their time while in the cabin up in the loft playing house, coloring in their coloring books, peaking out the skylight and thankfully they slept like babies.

We were blessed with perfect fall weather so we enjoyed sunsets each evening and star filled nights. Although the dock and rowboat were unavailable (they were already pulled for the season), we spent our days skipping rocks, fishing and strolling alongside the crystal clear lake. It was late in the season for fishing so we didn't catch anything unfortunately, but the kids perfected their cast and simply loved it. We also enjoyed a campfire in their outdoor firepit each evening.

We ventured out one afternoon and drove through downtown Hawley. Everyone we met along the way was friendly and the town was quaint. We picked up a pizza at Mike's Pizzeria (that was very tasty) and brought it back to the cabin - we didn't want to miss the sunset!

Overall, we would definitely recommend this property to other renters. We hope to go back again sometime in the spring or summer months so we can enjoy playing on the lake - boating & fishing. However....the fall was SO cozy with the leaves changing and crisp air. It was perfect and exactly what we needed AND wanted.

Cozy Cabin at a Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have been staying here for a couple years now. We have made so many wonderful memories here and have met some of the year round neighbors now (we always go during the fall). I love the location and how close it is to everything in the area. I always love where the cabin sits on the lake as I have captured so many gorgeous sunrises and sunsets on film. The owner's are professional and easy to work with. They keep this cabin in great shape!
