The house was purchased by R-LCOL Roger Ramsey and his son Scott Ramsey in 2004. Roger is a decorated war hero with a Silver Star, Bronze Star, Combat Air Medal (Bronze Star) and a Legion of Merit. He is buried with honors in Arlington National Cemetary with his loving wife, Diane Ramsey. In life, our comrade in arms, Roger, honored the flag and in death the flag honors him.
His son, Scott, carries on Roger's legacy of honor and respect for everyone.

Bayberry Cove offers plenty of room to relax and enjoy what nature has to offer. Get out of the house and go outside. Go biking, walking, kayaking, fishing, crabbing, sunning yourself, swimming, hot tubbing, grilling, antiquing, shopping, bar hopping, restaurant hopping, museum going, and go see all the Cambridge and Dorchester county has to offer. This property has no light pollution. See shooting stars at night from the hot tub (recommend turning all house and hot tub lights completely off first!). You will likely see them every clear night. You can see the Milky way in vivid color. It is quiet and peaceful.
Watch Osprey's and Heron fish all day long. You name it - it is in the heart of Chesapeake country. And don't forget to visit Blackwater Refuge - the Nation's largest federal bird sanctuary just fifteen minutes away from our property.

CAMBRIDGE IS FUN
Thanks to the Ramseys for allowing us the use of this wonderful house for the week. The house and yard were wonderful and made our family vacations one of the best ever!
The children enjoyed crabbing and fishing off the dock. We all got accustomed to their screams of "we got another one!" as we relaxed in the hot tub and the pool.
The house layout was perfect and the bedrooms were very comfortable. The kitchen was great and contained all the kitchen tools necessary to cook great dinners!
We definitely would like to return to this house next year and enjoy the relaxation as we did this year.
I plan to tell some friends about this home I am sure they would be interested in coming here as well.
Thanks again to the Ramseys for allowing us the use of this home for the week.
PS. Jake and Chelsea "Bark" their thanks as well.
Overall, the house was grand. It is in a nice secluded area so we were able to go on runs in the middle of the road without even running into cars. The rooms were nice and spatial but the two big ones can get pretty bright if you're trying to sleep in. Everything in the kitchen was easy to find. The deck was a great place for some grilling.
My research group came here for a lab retreat recently and had a great time. The house was spacious and there was plenty to do outdoors. It's in a nice rural area where every passerby would wave and act friendly. The backyard has a good amount of space for soccer, frisbee and other sports. It was nice to be able to get so much out of the grill as well (it helped that it was one of the first nice weekends of the year).
The only negative issue was with the bathroom water. Because the water comes from a well it smells sort of strange. The owner assured us that it was safe to drink but also provided a water cooler in the kitchen.
Overall we were happy with the visit and would recommend this place to others.
We really enjoyed staying here. The house is great and secluded on a beautiful and quiet part of the Choptank River. We loved using the kayaks/dingy as well as the Fire-pit, hot tub and grill.
The owner was very helpful and checked in with us to make sure everything was OK. Gave us local recommendations and was available during our stay.
Would certainly stay again.
We didn't bring kids, but this is a very kid friendly location (well you do need to supervise due to all the water hazards)
I went to Bayberry Cove in late March and the property and house were both beautiful! Although we did not have the best weather, the surroundings are pristine and gorgeous. We still braved a trip out onto the Choptank River in the kayaks provided, had an outdoor barbecue, listened to the gentle whir of the windmill (which the little kiddies were fascinated with), and got together as a family in spacious main room. Scott was very helpful when making recommendations for food in the area, which was just charming. I can only imagine how beautiful this property is in the summer and would love to go back!
Owners of this wonderful property could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We stayed over Christmas week and they were always easy to reach if we had any questions. After getting home I knew I had forgotten my 50 year old rolling pin! I was very upset! Scott was very understanding and went out of his way to return it to me at no expense! Just before it was shipped we left for another trip and Scott agreed to hold it for me until we returned home. He is always prompt with emails and return calls.
Being the "older couple" in the group and very nervous driving in traffic Scott allowed us to come in on a Sunday to avoid heavy traffic. It was a very long trip from NH! We were so thankful!
He was so good to us and made our stay perfect. We would love to stay here again.
We stayed here for several days on our business team meeting / retreat with several colleagues of mine. We spent most of our work activity in the dining room which was large and could seat all eight of us comfortably. The kitchen was well stocked and the owner's provided a water cooler with fresh spring water. The house was very warm and inviting with plenty of amenities including DISH DVRs for every TV in every bedroom and the living room. The hot tub was a great escape with the view of the stars at night. We enjoyed seeing much local wildlife including wild turkey, bald eagles, deer, and many species of waterfowl. We were told that we were the first tenants to stay here since the owners recently installed brand new blinds in every window and sliding glass door and covered the deck with a new deck paint and copper deck post caps. They look great!
We all look forward to returning sometime in the future!
We currently provide three single kayaks with paddles and life vests. These are use at your own risk.
BLACKWATER WILDLIFE REFUGE IS JUST A 15 MINUTES DRIVE FROM OUR HOUSE. Find the Dorchester County website and you'll find many outdoor and hobbyist activities.
