About Alison or Tom Ward-Lee

We have lived in Samoens since 2004 and are based in the village with our team to help with your holiday every step of the way. Well loved by us, Toubkal was completely renovated in 2015 and we make regular visits to ensure all is presented beautifully for you.

Why Alison or Tom Ward-Lee chose Samoëns

We just fell in love with Samoens and had to move here! The property boasts great views and being so close to the resort centre, it was perfect for us to renovate to create a charming home from home rental property.

What makes this chalet unique

A totally unique chalet with a huge flat garden but only a few minutes walk to the resort centre. Hot tub and external wood-fired barrel sauna.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We can safely say we enjoyed our break more than most others previous, due mainly to the ambiance and facility afforded by this wonderful property [Chalet Toubkal]. Our daughter Georgia truly loved staying in the chalet and is still talking about how much she misses it. I am certain we will return at some point and will be in touch; in the meantime I would be grateful if you would pass on our comments to the owners, who have clearly thought about every detail with some level of quality and care. Can I also ask you to thank Paul for his friendly and helpful show round, which enabled us to settle on arrival. Many thanks again.

Living the Dream!

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful experience from start to finish; from the time we were greeted at the chalet by Gabby and Freddie from Alps Accommodation to the day we left (reluctantly).

The chalet had everything we needed and more. Within a day we were calling it ‘home’. Kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas were second to none. So often, holiday accommodation has beds and mattresses that are basic and uncomfortable - quite the opposite with Chalet Toubkal. Add to the general ambience the fact that we could enjoy a soak in the hot tub and a detox in the barrel sauna and you have an idyllic place to stay in a spectacular setting. Don’t delay. This is special.

Excellent, Stylish, Clean, Home from Home

  • 5 of 5

Chalet Toubkal provides an excellent, stylish, clean home from home in the Alps. Ash and Mike gave us the initial tour of the property on our arrival and they kept in touch over our holiday to make sure we had everything we needed - We could not fault the service provided. We have stayed in many Chalets over the last few years but never received this level of service before.

The chalet is in an excellent location with extensive views of the snow capped mountains from the balcony or the hot tub. It provided an excellent hub for our sons downhill mountain biking and our visits to the local towns and even further afield to Annecy and Chamonix.

We hope to return one day.

The chalet is situated in a quiet hamlet of Samoens, just 10 minutes flat walk to the historic centre of Samoens. In winter the frequent free ski bus stop is 5 minutes walk from the chalet. Samoens is the only ski resort classified by the registry of historic monuments, hence the beautiful village and surrounding area is protected and hasn’t been spoilt by mass tourism. Samoens ski area is part of the Grand Massif which is one the largest ski areas in Europe, joining with Flaine, Morillon, Les Carroz and Sixt, comprising of over 265 km of piste. In addition, the chalet and Samoens are just 1 hour’s drive from Geneva airport and is one of the closest ski resorts from Calais. The summers are amazing here and the scenery is as breathtaking. It is a perfect resort for an individual or family activity holiday, with waterfalls, mountain lakes, rafting, hiking, biking, adventure parks all walking distance.

Other Activities: snowboarding, rafting, canoeing, climbing, quad bikes, parapenting, adventure park

Golf: There are some fantastic golf courses within easy reach of Samoens, the nearest being Les Gets at only 10km away. You can enjoy a round of golf on an excellent course whilst enjoying spectacular views of Mont Blanc in the back ground. Also nearby we have Flaine golf course and a little further away, but still within 1 hour drive from Samoens there is Chamonix golf course.

In Samoens there is a fantastic driving range onto water as well as an Astroturf putting green. Contact our golf representative for more information.

Ski: Samoens is part of the Grand Massif, one of the largest ski areas in Europe. It is made up of Flaine, Morillon, Les Carroz, Sixt and Samoens. It offers extensive skiing and snowboarding, with a great snow record which is one of the best in the Alps. There are numerous reds and black runs locally and of course over in Flaine, where experts are well catered for. The piste - Consists of 14 black runs, 51 red runs, 53 blue runs, 15 green runs and 116 snow canons. Samoens ski area starts at 1600m, so a reliable base for good snow. Also, Samoens now has a new high speed 6 seater lift (the Chariande Express) which allows skiers and snowboarders to get to the Tete de Saix 3 times quicker than before!
