Green Mountain Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Seats up to 35 GUESTS AT EACH MEAL! 3 FULL MASTER SUITES,LARGE PLAY SET FOR KIDS

Welcome to our authentic log cabin. Our private road brings you through the gate, to the end and top of our road. From the large covered porches and surrounding property you can often enjoy spectacular views of 4 mountain ranges.

Enjoy the spaciousness of this 4500 square foot, 8 bedroom, 7 bath cabin that was recently remodeled. The lodge’s interior features huge, vaulted, log beam ceilings. The Lodge was professionally decorated in a 'Mountain Lodge' and 'Americana' theme with antiques and era replica pieces. Relax in an authentic log cabin, that was custom built with timber harvested from this original homestead. The lodge has a rustic atmosphere, but includes all the modern conveniences and amenities you would expect in a new custom home.

Three of the eight bedrooms are Master suites with their own private master baths, complete with jetted Jacuzzi tubs and oversized tile showers. All of the other five bedrooms have a full bathroom with custom tile showers located adjacent to them. All of the bedrooms have authentic log beds including 1 king, 5 queen, 2 doubles, 3 convertible sofas, and 4 twin beds. We also have 6 twin mattresses with linens that can be moved from room to room as needed. Very high quality bed linens and towels are provided and are unique to each room.

The main living room with it’s twenty foot tall log beam ceiling is completely furnished with overstuffed leather sofas and chairs. There is also satellite TV with a DVD/VCR player. This level also includes a huge fully furnished kitchen with service to accommodate your very large group. The kitchen is big and roomy, large enough for many cooks to work in at once. A glass top stove, microwave, dishwasher and two refrigerators with ice makers will provide the necessary means to handle your large group. The main dining table, crafted of timbers cut on the property, seats 20 comfortably. A separate dining table in the adjacent room seats an additional six.

The downstairs great room features a 48 inch flat screen TV with CABLE, DVD/VCR player and a surround sound audio system. This spacious room is decorated in a mountain theme and has all leather overstuffed sofas ,chairs and ottomans. You may just want to sit on the raised brick hearth and enjoy the heat from the stove while watching a movie or reading a book. There is a wet bar with a small refrigerator as well as a custom pool table, and a 6 foot Air Hockey table. This level also includes the bunk house room, with two sets of twin bunk beds. A full bathroom and separate laundry room with washer, dryer and ground level entrance round out this floor.

The lodge also includes four additional TV’s with separate cable receivers and a wireless internet network to meet your needs.

Outdoors is the hot tub that easily accommodates up to eight. The large covered deck has large wooden rocking chairs, a gas bar-b-cue, and a picnic table for outdoor dining. For those of you that love just sitting around a fire we have an old fashioned wood burning fire pit complete with log rail seating that over looks the mountain ranges. There is also a large wooden play set for the kids entertainment as well as huge boulders for the kids who love to climb and explore. We are 15 mins to town, but remote enough to enjoy the densely wooded outdoors. (There are guide books @ the cabin with numerous additional area trails and water falls to visit and hike)

Centrally located approx 30 minutes to Asheville, Spruce Pines, or skiing at Mt Mitchell or Wolf Laurel. Horseback riding, rafting, tubing or mountain bike riding, golf, hiking, are all in the area. It is about forty five minutes to Linville Caverns, Little Switzerland, Biltmore Estate, Grandfather Mountain, Blue Ridge Parkway and many other attractions.

About BILL & CINDY DAVIS

Cindy and I met at our church youth group in 1974. and were married in Long Beach, CA. in 1976. Cindy worked for the school district, and I retired from law enforcement in 2003. We have raised our first four children in a very rural area of California until retirement We later moved together in 2004 with their married children, their spouses and families to Greeneville, Tennessee. Since moving we have adopted or been raising six additional children. They have 13 grandchildren and six adult children all living in the Greeneville area. Several other relative families and friends, have made the move to Tennessee in the years that followed.

BILL & CINDY DAVIS purchased this cabin in 2005

Why BILL & CINDY DAVIS chose High Country & Blue Ridge Mountains

We fell in love with this large home on our first visit, and were the owners about 45 days later. The three story Lodge originally was a 10 bedroom home. We had never seen a cabin built with the huge timbers, all harvested from the property itself. We created 3 master suites causing the reduction in the number of bedrooms. With our immediate family hovering at about 35, this cabin was just ideal for us. There are four large separate gathering areas causing large groups to be able and meet without feeling closed in. After a few years of owning the cabin we decided to try renting it. About 90% of our guests come as part of a family reunion, while the remainder typically consist of Church or Business retreats.

What makes this cabin unique

We get comments each week from guests about many features of the Lodge. The ability to seat your entire group together at the same table is always one of the favorite features at the cabin. The three Master Suites with their own private bathrooms are a great bonus. The availability of the ample supply of other bathrooms makes waiting in line no problem at the Lodge. With end of the road privacy and plenty of room outdoors, there is NEVER a feeling of being crowded. There is also plenty of room for several vehicles as well as your fifth wheel, motor home, or church bus.

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a group of 24 (13 adults and 11 children) and the cabin was the perfect size. Plenty of space for everyone. Bill was wonderful to work with and was very accommodating for our family. Cabin is beautiful. The kids loved the rec room and is adults loved the kitchen. Cabin is in an area where you have plenty of privacy and quiet but yet perfect location for day trips such as Grandfather Mountain, Mount Mitchell State Park, Biltmore Estate, and the Pisgah National Forest. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be staying with them again :)

The Perfect Reunion

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 24 spent a week at the Davis Family Lodge and enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Mr. Davis was the perfect host, providing clear directions and quick responses to our questions. The lodge location provided the privacy we desired and yet was centrally located for our day trips and activities. With a dozen children, there was plenty of room and different accommodations to suit each family member. The kitchen was a wonderful gathering place, not only for eating but playing games and visiting together. The porch and rockers provided a quiet time for the babies. We had a memorable, fun and worry free time.

Owner's Response: Thank you Baker Family for taking your time to comment on our Lodge. It is very rewarding to hear from the groups that stay with us, what a wonderful time they had. Having the large groups of 30 to 35 on a fairly regular basis, can sometimes be quite a challenge to ensure everyone had a great time. Now that we have been renting the cabin for 10 years, we see many of the same families returning time and time again. We try our best to make sure everything is in perfect working order when a new group arrives. We often have only a few hours in between guests to re-stock, clean and sanitize the cabin for the new group arriving. We consider it a great compliment when a group takes time to leave a review about the "perfect" time they had at the Lodge. Thanks again for your kind words and we hope to see you again very soon. Sims Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

Our family consisting of 12 adults and 8 children, all under the age of 7, recently spent a week at the Davis Family Lodge. Mr. Davis, the owner, was wonderful in communicating with our family concerning the questions we had about his lodge and the town of Brunsville. He was quick to answer all of our emails and the many questions asked in a timely manner. The lodge was spacious and clean with ample room for everyone. The décor was lots of Americana memorabilia which was perfect for our July 4th vacation, The children spent a great deal of time in the lower level game room and outside on the play set. We roasted marshmallow on the fire pit and played horseshoes. As with most guest, we loved the large table in the kitchen. All of us were able to sit down as a family and enjoy meals together which was a special time for us. We enjoyed staying at the Davis Family Lodge and will have great memories of our time spent on Green Mountain.

A Great Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

My family met together at the Davis Lodge and was very impressed with the cabin. The space was just enough for our family without using any extra bedding. It was the perfect spot for our family to meet between where everyone lived. We thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities provided. The kitchen was very nice as it was big enough for almost all of us to eat. We also used the dining table and the picnic table outside. It was a very memorable time for us and we found the cabin just the right spot for us to enjoy our family togetherness. The only problem we had was the gravel road coming to the cabin. We could not get up to the cabin when we arrived without spinning out. Finally we were able to get up with our cars in reverse. Bill Davis, the owner was very helpful with our situation and he promised to send graders out the next day. They did come and made it very manageable to go back and forth from then on. The hot tub cover was cracked and being replaced but the hot tub was still usable. Thank you Bill and Cindy for your beautiful cabin !

Owner's Response: Thanks Debra for your kind comments. Are goal is to "allways exceed our guests expectations". I believe I have said before that the last 95 feet of the driveway is sometimes a nu-sense. The grade is at a slightly up hill angle. Two to three times a year, a car in a group arriving encounters a uneven section of driveway. This is usually due to a combination of heavy rain and teenage drivers in the previous group. Teens seem to enjoy spinning the tires causing the washboard effect. The cleaning crew arrives in their minivan at 10am. They have never had a problem with the road, although they have been driving in and out for 9 years. When they discover the drive needs re-grading, they will contact him. Usually it is finished before the next group arrives. It would be rare that he cannot grade out the bumps the same day. We are very sorry if it happens. The only reason we do not pave this small section, is because the gravel provides for much better traction in the snow and ice months. During these times we also have an additional man in our subdivision, that clears the roads to the cabins. He does this several times each day as needed. I am sorry we did not get it done before you arrived Debra. We are always trying to find ways to improve. Again I want to thank you for your compliments and choosing to stay with us.
