Immaculate, Well-Equipped, Quiet and Private
We couldn't have asked for a better place for our five-day Vermont trip. We were a group of four adults and a 16-month-old infant. When we arrived, we were greeted by the fragrant smell of a huge bouquet of lilies on the kitchen table. They lasted our entire visit. As others have written, the house was very clean (cleaner than most hotels!) and had everything we needed. I mean everything! When we rent a house, we especially look for a quiet place with no nearby neighbors and good sleeping arrangements, and this property checks all of the boxes. All of the neighbors are at least 500 feet away through dense forests. We could barely hear sounds in the distance occasionally. The king bedroom and bed are perfect! There is no separate dining room but there is a table that seats six in the kitchen. We mostly ate at the table on the deck since it was August. The gas BBQ worked fine. The deck itself is perfect with a wonderful view of the lawn and the forest surrounding the house. The main living room upstairs is complete and comfortable and much nicer than the picture on the website suggests. We were fortunate enough to have good weather so we spent each evening at the fire pit in the back yard enjoying a roaring fire as we watched the stars come out. There are plenty of things to do in the area during the dayand the guide provides plenty of suggestions and details. Two of us especially enjoyed climbing the steep trail to Sunset Rock at nearby Lincoln Gap. We never met Dave and Gretchen but Dave went out of his way to help us and responded quickly to our questions and called the night before we left to make sure we were okay and to offer us a little extra time if we needed it. Thanks for a great trip!
A Perfect Base Camp
This was a great property. Well situated away from the hustle and bustle. It was a perfect base camp for us as we planned on doing some hiking both north and south of the location
Well stocked kitchen with pots and utensils. Very comfortable beds. I appreciated the bureaus in each room. It was nice to be able to fully unpack. Good water pressure and an appropriately sized hot water tank. Three straight showers/baths and there was still plenty of hot water leftovers. The owners have really paid attention to the details. Communicating with them was mooth and easy and they responded to questions quickly. We would absolutely stay here again.
Great Location, Super Clean, Well Equipped Kitchen & Great Area Guide
We have rented many other homes that were higher priced that weren’t anywhere as clean & detailed as this place....
The owners had prepared an extensive (and detailed) Area Guide that hash broad range of information...well beyond restaurants things to do. The beds have quality bedding, and the King Size bed was very comfortable & seemed higher quality. Our friends utilizing the queen bed suggested the same.
The deck with the view and deck furniture was a great place to eat and grill. BTW the grill was spotlessly cleaned and prepped. In the evenings, we also enjoyed the fire pit and that has chairs surrounding it.
For the kiddo there were doorway gates, lots of books, videos, ride-on toys, bath toys & bathtub has hand sprayer...
Of all of the places we have rented to date this place was hands down the best value & quality ! We’ll be back next year but book will book early since it looks to book our quickly... Gracie & Doug
Gracie & Doug,
Much thanks for the kind words !
Hope you can make it back to stay at our Vacation Home again.

Wonderful summer vacation house
My parents enjoyed their stay. Beautiful, quiet neighborhood right in Waitsfield near restaurants and the grocery store. Nice, clean house with a great yard for lounging. It was so much better than staying in a small hotel room for a week.
What's not to love
It's always hard finding the "perfect" vacation home. Very happy with this house. The owner Dave is very thoughtful and truly cares about the people staying at his place. When you walk in there is nothing showy about this house it is set up to feel like home away from home. Very inviting home, you knew after a long day out you can just kick off your shoes and relax.
Each year instead of buying a bunch of needless gifts, we take our adult son and his family on a vacation. The house provided two living areas one upstairs and one down, perfect for that me time.
Nothing negative to say, why point out little meaningless things it's not a hotel it's a home someone has opened up to share for your enjoyment. David and Gretchen have a wonderful home and we all personally thank you for sharing it with us.
Loved Our Stay Here
Another couple and we stayed here for several days. The house was very comfortable and everything was as advertised on the web site. The kitchen was fully stocked with pans, plates, etc including both Keurig and regular coffee pots, blender and more. Linens were more plentiful as well as needed supplies like dishwasher liquid. The location was good and the pictures of the cabin were accurate.
The owner, Dave Franks, was really great. His communications were always timely and clear. During one evening we had a tree limb fall on the electrical supply line to the house and we lost all power. Since it is an all electric house (water, heat, etc) and cold we were concerned about staying the night. Dave came up, coordinate getting electrical service to the house (within an hour) and made a number of calls to local inns in case we had to stay somewhere else. He stayed with us until the electrical was restored. We discovered later the phone line and internet had been impacted by the tree falling and he arranged for service as soon as possible; it was repaired by noon the next day. He was a joy to have as the home owner.
Overall a great place to stay in the area - we thoroughly enjoyed it!
