Home in the mountains of Vermont
A bit out of the way, but a well kept, well appointed home on a mountainside in central Vermont, this home has everything you would ever need for a getaway. Located in the Mad River Valley on Route 100, this home is close to the many cosmopolitan features of the area. Quaint, but sophisticated, this area is a favourite for skiing as well as year round activities. You will love the attention to detail. Give it a try!
A great stay!
A lovely home with very helpful hosts! We had a wonderful few days here in the heart of the Mad River enjoying local swim holes, American Flatbread, some light hiking and generally relaxing with family.
Great house and location
We had to go to Vermont for a wedding and decided to also do our family vacation. This house exceeded our expectations and had everything you could possibly need. Very kid friendly with toys the kids enjoyed. We spent many nights sitting by the fire pit. Very private, you could not see or hear any neighboring houses, surrounded by nature. With Knoll blueberry farm down the road and Waitsfield town center at the bottom of the hill, this location was great! Dave, the owner, could not have been nicer and answered any questions quickly by text. One of our best family vacations!
Immaculate, Well-Equipped, Quiet and Private
We couldn't have asked for a better place for our five-day Vermont trip. We were a group of four adults and a 16-month-old infant. When we arrived, we were greeted by the fragrant smell of a huge bouquet of lilies on the kitchen table. They lasted our entire visit. As others have written, the house was very clean (cleaner than most hotels!) and had everything we needed. I mean everything! When we rent a house, we especially look for a quiet place with no nearby neighbors and good sleeping arrangements, and this property checks all of the boxes. All of the neighbors are at least 500 feet away through dense forests. We could barely hear sounds in the distance occasionally. The king bedroom and bed are perfect! There is no separate dining room but there is a table that seats six in the kitchen. We mostly ate at the table on the deck since it was August. The gas BBQ worked fine. The deck itself is perfect with a wonderful view of the lawn and the forest surrounding the house. The main living room upstairs is complete and comfortable and much nicer than the picture on the website suggests. We were fortunate enough to have good weather so we spent each evening at the fire pit in the back yard enjoying a roaring fire as we watched the stars come out. There are plenty of things to do in the area during the dayand the guide provides plenty of suggestions and details. Two of us especially enjoyed climbing the steep trail to Sunset Rock at nearby Lincoln Gap. We never met Dave and Gretchen but Dave went out of his way to help us and responded quickly to our questions and called the night before we left to make sure we were okay and to offer us a little extra time if we needed it. Thanks for a great trip!
A Perfect Base Camp
This was a great property. Well situated away from the hustle and bustle. It was a perfect base camp for us as we planned on doing some hiking both north and south of the location
Well stocked kitchen with pots and utensils. Very comfortable beds. I appreciated the bureaus in each room. It was nice to be able to fully unpack. Good water pressure and an appropriately sized hot water tank. Three straight showers/baths and there was still plenty of hot water leftovers. The owners have really paid attention to the details. Communicating with them was mooth and easy and they responded to questions quickly. We would absolutely stay here again.
Great Location, Super Clean, Well Equipped Kitchen & Great Area Guide
We have rented many other homes that were higher priced that weren’t anywhere as clean & detailed as this place....
The owners had prepared an extensive (and detailed) Area Guide that hash broad range of information...well beyond restaurants things to do. The beds have quality bedding, and the King Size bed was very comfortable & seemed higher quality. Our friends utilizing the queen bed suggested the same.
The deck with the view and deck furniture was a great place to eat and grill. BTW the grill was spotlessly cleaned and prepped. In the evenings, we also enjoyed the fire pit and that has chairs surrounding it.
For the kiddo there were doorway gates, lots of books, videos, ride-on toys, bath toys & bathtub has hand sprayer...
Of all of the places we have rented to date this place was hands down the best value & quality ! We’ll be back next year but book will book early since it looks to book our quickly... Gracie & Doug
