There is central vacuuming so daily upkeep is easy.

You get exactly what is promised!

  • 4 of 5

Roger is extremely amicable and hospitable. The location and accommodations were exactly as presented. We had 3 adults and 3 teens; best part is everyone had there own bed which is usually difficult to find at an affordable price. Our only concern being that the hot tub was not large enough to hold all 6 comfortably at the same time. The house itself had plenty of room to entertain on the few rainy days we had - kids could lounge on their own beds using their phone and wifi or watch tv while the elder crowd mingled in the living room; there was also sufficient space downstairs to hang and play pool or ping pong while listening to tunes. The deck had enough seating for all and the view overlooking the river was beautiful whether while having your morning coffee or favorite afternoon adult beverage - there's even a wine cooler at the downstairs bar! The kitchen is fully stocked with a huge fridge, more than adequate stove, dishwasher and choice of Keurig or Mr Coffee! We grilled most dinners on the gas grill provided and even took advantage of the slow cooker one day while everyone just lounged about. There was plenty to do in the area and well worth the 2.5 hour ride.

Great memories!

  • 5 of 5

Our family loved this house and location! The house was beautiful, clean and Roger made sure to call to see if we needed anything. We rent different houses every year and aren’t truly satisfied, but this house made the top of our list, we were very satisfied, comfortable and relaxed. Our whole family made great memories and can’t wait to come back!

Private and relaxing….

  • 4 of 5

More than plenty of room for the two of us and our four-legged friend. Roger was very hospitable and we even enjoyed his pool one day. Home was much as expected for being out in the woods. Not very buggy as most wooded retreats, view could be better if some brush was cut down, but still amazing. Great kitchen amenities as I love to cook. Enjoyed both the pool table and ping pong table. Plenty of books, games and satellite TV. Struggled a little with no central A/C (which we knew about), but made the best use of the window a/c and fans. It seems like you are far away from civilization, but amenities and things to do aren’t very far away. Maybe next time we will venture out; we just wanted to chillax and unplug. Best of all it was only a couple hours from home. Overall, we would definitely be back again and maybe next time do more exploring!

Wish there was a 10 Star Rating!!! Best place, gracious host, excellent home

  • 5 of 5

Not sure where to start - It's like the best part of camping with your family, except in a well-appointed, air-conditioned, fully stocked, comfortable home! We were a family of 9 - including the grandkids and two huge dogs. While my sons and their family took the dogs on the acres of woods right behind the house, my partner and I enjoyed our coffee overlooking the Delaware. Host Roger was a delight, hospitable and gracious - We had full use of his pool. There's Lake Huntington about 5 miles away where we took our Kayaks - perfect size, no crowds. Fully stocked kitchen, toiletries, laundry. Couldn't ask for better. Hot tub and campfire at night, hiking, swimming and kayaking by day. We're just deciding which week we want to pick to return for next year! If you want a real cozy, family time, disconnected and unplugged (although there was wifi service), relaxed, no make-up, kick-back, private and comfortable stay - this is really a wonderful place. Highly recommend it. We may even try to go back during the Autumn when the overlook must be a Monet painting! Thank you, Roger! See you soon!

Just right for family reunion.

  • 4 of 5

This house and property has a nice combination of features. There is plenty of seating in both the living and family rooms and the dining area is larger than it appears in the photo. The inside staircase between floors is tight and a little treacherous and we appreciated that it was gated, as was the deck stairs. The kitchen is equipped with a tremendous number and variety of pans and cooking utensils. There is also a pantry area for food storage. We had fun exploring the woods on the property, as well as numerous trails in the vicinity. Easy access to the Delaware River too.

Map

Car: necessary

Northeastern Pennsylvania borders the foot of the Catskill Mountains, and is a host to year round activities, including auctions, antiquing, shopping and museums. Activities in New York are also easily assessable.

In the summer there is a host of outdoor activities such as fishing, rafting, canoeing, swimming, bicycling, horseback riding, golfing, hiking, country fairs, live theater, and concerts at Woodstock Concert's original 1975 performing site, known as Bethel Performing Arts Center.

In the winter the area is transformed into a magical wonderland with some of the best skiing in the North East.

When the fall comes, no one should miss the vibrant colors of a Pennsylvania Autumn or the chance to explore our vast wild life.

For a quiet romantic getaway or vacation for the adventurous family, Pennsylvania has a lot to offer. Why not make it your next vacation destination?

Other Activities: spinet piano, yoga studios, Himalayan Institute nearby, art and theater classes

Ski: Elk Mountain and Big Bear are both in reasonable distance
