Located on Old Garth Rd. just beyond the back entrance to Farmington Country Club, this house is convenient to both UVA and Barracks Road Center, and is only 32 mi. from skiing at Wintergreen. Positioned high above the road amongst tall trees on a three acre lot, the house lends a sense of privacy. In the back, a flagstone terrace surrounded by natural flora and huge azaleas provides a great place to enjoy Charlottesville's awesome weather. Inside, feel right at home in the beautiful kitchen and great room. The upstairs contains three bedrooms and three baths, while across a short breezeway along one side of the patio are two more bedrooms and a bath. This house is great for one large family, two families, or even a group of friends in town for a reunion.
This home met our every need. Our daughter picked Charlottesville for her wedding, and this place offered us a home for the week to do planning and last minute preparations, as well as space for the wedding party and groom's family to stay. It fit the bill with bedrooms and BATHROOMS! It was spacious enough to entertain guests coming into town, and the morning of the wedding the women were able to get their hair and make up done in one room while photos started in another room. Would highly recommend this to anyone who needs the space for family gatherings.
My friends and I came into town for a reunion weekend. We stayed at this house and it certainly lives up to its description! The house is beautiful and well-suited for catching up with friends. It's also incredibly convenient to all the places you want to go during a reunion weekend. We couldn't have been happier with the house. Highly recommend it and will definitely try to stay here for the next reunion!
We stayed at this house for our daughters wedding held on the grounds of UVA. The house was a perfect setting for our extended family and friends to stay and gather. It as CLOSE but far!! The house had every amenity we needed.
Our only recommendation would be is to bring a portable cooler for drinks etc. we FILLED the refrigerator to its brink with food and snacks plus wine and beer. We used the cooler for water and soft drinks.
From start to finish, we had a great time at this property -- large/spacious areas, open floor plan with kitchen, bathroom situation ideal for a group of girls, plus it's close to downtown! Couldn't have asked for more!
Recently stayed at this house during a girls' weekend getaway and it was perfect; everyone loved the house. There was room for 11 women (5 different bedrooms could comfortably sleep 10, plus room for air mattress/pullout couch could sleep another 1 or 2 throughout the house). The four and a half baths were ample space for everyone to shower and get ready quickly. There is plenty to do within a short driving distance; we spent our weekend at several wineries nearby (Veritas, King Family, and Grace Estate) and also drove to the UVA campus for morning runs.
The house was charmingly decorated and suited us well for lounging around the kitchen/living room area as a group or having a relaxed dinner in the beautiful dining room. It was close enough to Charlottesville to run into town for errands, but still removed enough to feel private. It was stocked just about any amenity we needed, including enough dishes and cooking utensils to prepare meals for a crowd. Patrick was very responsive and helpful while I was planning our stay.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house and was pleasantly surprised that not a single problem arose--everything was exactly as the pictures reflected and the house had just about anything you could need.
We traveled to Charlottesville for a bachelorette party and the house was wonderful. There was 10 of us girls and there was more than enough room for everyone. The house was really cute inside and seemed like a very private location . Our stay was great!
In Charlottesville, enjoy UVA and all of its history and events, including UVA sports and Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. Among the special events happening throughout the year: The Charlottesville Film Festival occurs each Fall, The Foxfield horse races are held twice a year, and Albemarle's Garden Week each April provides a great opportunity to tour some of the areas great homes. Virginia wine has vastly improved over the past 10 years; and dozens of wineries dot the countryside.
