Comfort, space and modern conveniences in an ancient stone cottage with a huge stone fireplace, elm beams and beautiful stone walls. The rural setting is peaceful and calm yet shops, restaurants and attractions of the region are a short drive away.
What makes this Cottage unique
It's a beautiful, authentic Norman cottage with 200-year old graffiti carved into the stone fireplace. Our lovely neighbours, the dairy farmers next door.

Outstanding, quiet rural property. A stone cottage set with a garden.
Attentive hosts able to provide lots of information about Normandy, Omaha and Utah Beaches , and D-Day.
Best shopping for food is just off the roundabout in Carentan. The cottage has everything needed to prepare simple meals.
Band of Brothers boxed set of DVDs is on the site, and we watched it for probably the fourth time during our stay.
We stayed a week and would happily return.
Great comfortable and peaceful property.
Met Steve and rosemary were helpful but not intrusive at all. Had plenty of wood so that we chilled and relaxed in front of the fire every night . Shampoo and hand soaps and toilet rolls provided. Village with two bakeries , two minutes away . So fresh baguettes every morning. Places like Barfleur , Saint vaast la hougue , Carentan and it's canal and port well worth a look . Great walks on the beaches too , miles of it when tides out. Thanks for a lovely place .
Just What We Were Looking For
Just what we were looking for. Owners very friendly and helpful, the place itself had all we needed for in-house cooking, Sainte-Marie-du-Mont is just minutes in the car or a decent walk/bike ride. We only tried one of the two restaurants there, was good quality (if you're not driving ask for a '44; calvados with oranges, coffee and sugar).
The location is perfect for accessing all the D-Day beaches and sites, as well as other areas of interest in Normandy.
Many thanks for the kind hospitality for a most enjoyable week.
Thank you for your very kind review. We're delighted the cottage was just what you were looking for! It was a pleasure to meet you both.
Our Normandy Experience
We enjoyed staying at the lovely cottage of Le Marronier, close to Utah Beach and Marie St. Dumont. It was our base to explore the area and experience Normandy during our stay, we definitely could have used more time. Thanks to our hosts for being so friendly and helpful.
Beautiful place close to every beach
Very comfortable place and very quiet
Thank you, Yvan, for your kind words. We hope to see you again - perhaps you'll return to Normandy!
Great property and owners!!!
Cottage was exactly as advertised and more. Very close to Utah Beach and the village of Sainte
Marie du Mont. Our stay was amazing. Thanks, Steve and Rosemary
We're so glad that your stay was amazing! Thank you for letting us know. We look forward to seeing you, maybe, in the future!
The cottage is in the centre of the D-Day and Normandy landings area and close to Utah Beach. Set in a regional nature conservation park with nature reserve, the countryside, towns and villages of traditional stone houses are tranquil and unspoiled. The nearby village, Sainte Marie du Mont, has artisanal bakers and other shops, restaurants and amenities. Carentan has a Monday market, a marina and supermarkets. Local Norman cuisine and in particular mussels, oysters and mackerel are (in season) available straight off the boat. Mont St Michel, Bayeux and beautiful fishing villages such as St Vaast la Houge and Barfleur are in easy driving distance as is Barnville-Carteret, the international sailing venue.
