Firthview stay May 2016

  • 4 of 5

Very spacious property in Dornoch. Very close to golf course and restaurants. Only issues were lack of clothes dryer and low water pressure in shower.

Superb as always

I can't say enough good things about this cottage. I have stayed there many times. It is spacious, warm, has good spec, is very comfortable and homely, and has character. Fantastic service from Gael Holiday Homes.

Great stay in well appointed cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had an excellent and relaxing stay in Firth View Cottage and would be happy to stay there again. It was spacious, clean and well appointed. The kitchen was basic but more than adequate and provided all we needed. We had a slight issue with the boiler but this was sorted very quickly by the owner. There were two living rooms--a dining/living room and a drawing room--and both were comfortable. My only issue was that the beds were a little small and slightly uncomfortable and could do with an upgrade.

We'll be back!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great week in Dornoch and Firth View Cottage fulfilled all our needs. It's in a great location and the facilities are very good. Seconds from the golf course, the beach, the village and a few pubs - what more do you need! We'll be back.

Wouldn't recommend

  • 4 of 5

Great location. Greeted by cobwebs and beetles when we entered the front door. Kitchen utensils dirty. Shower is no more than a trickle of water totally useless for having a wash. No wardrobes in any room was rediculous

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review regarding your stay at Firth View. I was sorry to hear that upon your arrival there were cobwebs - a nuisance with older properties, maybe exacerbated by the fact it had been empty the week prior to your stay. Although there is hanging space in the cupboard on the upstairs landing, we have now arranged for extra clothes rails in the bedrooms, which hopefully will be more convenient for guests. As the shower is a standard electric type the water pressure from it isn’t as strong as plumbed showers, this said we are arranging for a plumber to check the water pressure at the property in the hope of improving the shower.

Golf in Dornoch

  • 4 of 5

Good location

Bathroom a bit spartan and hot water for bath tempremental - 20 mins to run a bath

Bathroom needs a bit of decoration

Double Bed could be more comfortable (addition of Tempur mattess topper would help)

Dishwasher would have been expected for this rental price

Little or no storage space - we used lounge as a changing room and wardrobe as we were only 2
