Kaanapali Shores is a beachfront hotel resort with a gated entry, a covered parking structure, dining, shops, activities desk and beautiful grounds spanning two swimming pools, waterfalls, exotic flower gardens and rolling greens. They have Hawaiin dancers and live music by the pool every Wednesday evening. There are even four barbecues near the tennis courts.
Just steps away from the Kaanapali beach, this unit is perfect for families with small children wanting convenient access to the pool. It also offers convenient access to the bar and restaurant. Close to the elevator, it is also just one floor above the top parking level, offering easy in and out access from your car.

This luxury condo has been completely redone and is the perfect vacation choice for an intimate Hawaii vacation or for the family trip of a lifetime. It is beautifully furnished with a new kitchen, master bedroom with king bed and trundle bed (which sleeps one person), a second bedroom with two twin beds (that can be moved together), and a fold out queen size couch in the living room. The unit is on the fourth floor and overlooks the pool and Jacuzzi. It is perfect for families who want to keep an eye on the kids or family members without sitting by the pool all day. You can call the gang in for lunch from the spacious living room lanai. The master bedroom also has an intimate private lanai.
Across the street is a shopping center including Stars supermarket and various restaurants.
My family of 6 (2 adults and 4 teenagers) has just returned from a 10 night stay in Jim's condo. To say we had a wonderful vacation is an understatement. The condo is just as advertised, with extras that sometimes are not included, but are very much appreciated. Like everyone else has said, the closet stocked with boogie boards, lawn chairs, a cooler and tennis rackets was great, but it is the little things like laundry and dishwasher detergent, tin foil, salt and pepper, extra towels that are really appreciated!! We have stayed in other rentals that have none of those items and they nickel and dime you to death! Having some of these items was such a pleasant surprise. Thank you Jim and your management company for having them. We did not contact the management company during our stay as it was never needed.
The location of Ka'anapali Shores is great. There is lots to do in the area, with Lahaina a short drive up the highway. We always felt safe while on the entire island. There is a Times grocery store right across the street or a Safeway in Lahaina. The new pool and grounds are stunning. Just beautiful! Jim's condo overlooks the new pool area so you can watch your kids from your lanai. There is a barbeque area (which is poorly located on the property) with picnic tables near the tennis courts so the kids are not bored when you are down grilling your dinner. There is plenty of parking - the resort charges you $9 per night when you arrive. You receive towel cards for pool towels, and Jim has extras in the condo as well so do not bother packing more.
The beds are comfortable, although the mattress on the sofa bed needs replacing. There is plenty of room for 6 guests without tripping over each other and the fact that there are 2 newly renovated bathrooms is a bonus. The lanai is a nice size with a private smaller one off of the master bedroom. Overall, this condo is exactly what we were wanting and even better than we were expecting. Jim has been wonderful to deal with and I would not hesitate for one minute to recommend his place to my friends and family. We are hoping we will be back again in the future, as it has become a favorite.
It was our first family vacation to Maui, and we could not have found a more perfect place! The condo was recently remodeled with lots of upgrades throughout. The bedrooms were good sized and the bathrooms had everything needed. Kitchen was well appointed and has all of the essentials that you need for your stay. Jim was very responsive via both telephone and email. Diana at the management company was also very helpful and responsive. The closet of beach stuff was also a nice touch. The condo also has beautiful sunset views from both lanais, too.
We would highly recommend this property as it is in a great location, and would select it again. It is close to Lahaina and has tons of great snorkeling beaches near by. We were lucky enough to see sea turtles at the beach in front of the property!
I am writing this review from the lanai, overlooking the swaying palms, the pool and watching the swells roll onto shore. Everything about this condo has been as advertised if not better. Jim was very helpful in answering all our questions in the months leading up to our stay. This condo is in a good location. The beach is very nice, though the reef is quite close to shore. This is good for snorkelling, but can be tricky for swimming. Move a couple dozen yards south though and there is an area where the reef is further out. Across the street is a grocery store and several other little shops. You are 10 minutes from Lahaina, and 5-10 minutes from incredible snorkelling, surfing and boogie boarding. As for the condo itself, it's in good shape and has everything you need. The front closet is jam-packed with beach gear, including snorkel gear, boogie boards, water shoes, cooler bag, beach chairs, toys, mats and towels. Staff here have been very nice, and the Expedia Concierge in the lobby was quite helpful in booking excursions. Across the street, Snorkel Bob's was helpful in pointing out the best places to snorkel. Without knowing this area at all, we weren't sure if we had made a good decision. Now that we are here, we are very happy with our choice!
Our family of 4 stayed here for 10 nights. The unit is just as the photos show--very clean and beautifully upgraded. Our teenage kids loved having their own beds and it was great to have the second bathroom. The owner Jim, is very nice and always responded promptly to our emails. He even allowed us a late check out free of charge. The management company that manages the unit is Kaanapali Beach Rentals (office right across the street from resort) and they are great! They called a few times during our stay to ensure all was well. Jim and the management company were so pleasant to deal with!! I can't highlight this enough!The concierge staff at the resort were all very nice and helpful. Book through the concierge as they get discounts on certain tours. The unit was spotless, had wonderful beds and bedding for all beds and plenty of soft luxurious towels for our stay. They provided plenty of toiletries, towels, kitchen supplies for our stay. The resort is lovely (very clean) with lots of easy parking for $9 per day. The location of the resort is excellent with lots of amenities right across the street--Snorkel Bob's , grocery store, great coffee shop, gelato, pizza place and my favorite organic market the Farmer's Market just up the road. The unit was also equipped with plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrella, matts, boogie boards etc. The view from the lanai is lovely. We stayed here with family, there were a total of six of us. Everything was perfect. The location, the condo, the amenities. The staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us and it was. I would highly recommend this property and will stay here again when I come back. It was centrally located to everything we wanted to do on Maui. We golfed in Kapalua, went deep sea fishing from Lahaina and spent time at Whaler's Village. They even had snorkel gear, beach equipment, sunscreen, board games and an audio cd that we used for the Road to Hana. The location of the condo within the complex is also in a great location. It is close to the elevators and close to parking so it never was an issue when we wanted to leave to go somewhere. It really was perfect. So thankful for the owner and the property managers. They made the process easy.
Very comfortable condo with a good location. There were six of us and we were never in each other's way. Had an enjoyable time and would recommend this unit. The rental agency was very helpful. Great location to Farmer's Market, grocery store, etc.
Our condo is on the 4th floor of Kaanapali Shores Resort and looks west to the ocean and sunset.
