Perfectly positioned, between Ventnor and the picturesque village of Bonchurch, the apartment offers stunning sea views to the front and beautiful Downland views to the rear. Ventnor town centre, its shops, cafes, restaurants and amenities, as well as family friendly beaches are just ten minutes walk away in one direction. Quaint Bonchurch with its lovely pond, excellent restaurant and pub and the secluded beautiful beach at Monks Bay are just a few minutes walk in the other. Ventnor offers a wide range of activities ranging from boat trips, to spa treatments and botanical gardens makes the lovely town an attraction for all ages. Part of a historic building where Karl Marx lived for the last winters of his life, the whole apartment has been refurbished to a high standard and this character home has a fantastic feeling of space, comfort and light. With 2 double bedrooms (1 with plenty of space for a travel cot) and 1 twin bed room, the proper sleeps 6 comfortably, with a sofa bed accommodating another person. There is a secluded garden area, with table chairs and line for drying laundry, wetsuits etc. The apartment has been furnished and equipped to a high standard and there is free wifi a flat screen HD TV and DVD player and a PS3 with games. There is plenty of free, on-street parking all around the building.

About Jacquie Campbell

We fell in love with the Isle of Wight several years ago and our now family spends as much time there as possible. We have enjoyed creating a home from home in our apartment and hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Why Jacquie Campbell chose Ventnor

The apartment is full of character and has fantastic views of the sea from several rooms, as well as the beautiful Downs to the opposite aspect, so when you are tired from exploring the island, it is so lovely to be able to relax but still appreciate the stunning area. The large windows also make it wonderfully light. It is great to have a garden area, where outdoor meals or an evening drink can be enjoyed.

What makes this apartment unique

We have completely renovated the property, retaining the Victorian features but ensuring a high standard of comfort, with new kitchen diner and a shower room separate to the bathroom. The furniture and fittings have been chosen with comfort and style in mind, so we are regularly complemented on our super comfy beds and sofas. The apartment is part of a historic building where Karl Marx spent the last winters of his life.

Great facilities, great location

The property is conveniently located just outside the centre of Ventnor, and is no more than half an hour from anywhere else on the Island. It's very well equipped and has been cleverly converted with plenty of storage space. The owner Jacquie is very welcoming, friendly and provides useful local knowledge. It's clean and we'll - maintained, and it's interesting to know the history of the house where Marx stayed.

The only drawbacks are that you rely on on - street parking, so you may have a bit of a trek from the car with your suitcase, and being split - level it won't be ideal if you have mobility problems; although our two - year - old had no problem with it.

A great base to explore the island from. We hope to come back!

If you come again, there's a lay-by right outside the front door - you can't park there for long, but you can use it to load and unload. Great Family Holiday

The flat was ideally located for all the things we wanted to do. Jacquie was amazing with her help and the recommendations she gave me to keep a family of 5 happy - including 2 teenagers and my mother in law. We were a little worried about the bell ringing review but it wasn't a problem at all - maybe heard it once but it wasn't loud. Also the reviews about car parking raised some concern but again we had no problem parking at all throughout our 6 day stay and parked close to the flat. The flat itself was clean and spacious for our requirements and had a lovely view of the sea. I would definitely recommend this to others and again a special thanks to Jacquie for all her help.

Spacious, clean, well equipped and bags of character

We had a fantastic stay in this apartment - it was light, clean, spacious, and the host was very generous with advice on what to do/see in the local area, and in how the inside was kitted out (speakers, TV, games, DVDs etc.). Inside had beautiful wooden flooring, sea-themed decor and views to the sea. Beds were firm - very comfortable to sleep. The property is located within walking distance of the town and local bars and restaurants, in the nicest area of the island. Could not recommend enough - feel very lucky to have been able to stay here.

Beautiful property, great location and views! Recommended

The description doesn't do this apartment justice. A view of a lovely old church, the sea and Ventnor one side, with a beautiful tree covered ridge the other. Immaculate condition inside. Many of the best pub restaurants seem to be located this side of the island, with easy access to all the major attractions. Highly recommended!

The Isle of Wight is a refreshingly charming place, with breathtakingly beautiful scenery without the crowds and traffic. Whilst it is possible to tour around the island in a day, there is such a variety of picturesque small towns and villages, each with their own character, lovely shops and fabulous restaurants/ cafes, as well as tourist attractions, that it is well worth taking time to linger. The island products include excellent artisan foods and drinks and there are many individual and stylish shops.
