Rey was awesome to work with! Everything was beautiful and well maintained. My husband and I rented this for our wedding/honeymoon which was celebrated at the Wyndham Hotel on the same resort. We had many family get togethers as my family is from the island. It accommodated everyone perfectly and the kitchen worked wonders keeping up with how many mouths we fed during our stay. Our only complaint would be the coin operated laundry. Staying for such a long time, we didn't anticipate how much laundry/towels we'd actually use but luckily they had plenty of pool towels to spare. We will definitely be back!
Quite impressive villa in Palmas del Mar which I would recommend for sure. Most impressive parts of the house were the kitchen, dining room, family room, living rooms and pool. The pool was blissful and an absolute attraction throughout our stay. This property is highly recommended especially if you have younger children that you need to detach from electronics!
We stayed at this home last year. We were a large family with 16 adults/kids and and the space was more than enough. The resort (Palmas del mar) is great if you don't want to bother with a lot of driving and just stay in for a few days of your trip. There is a lot of stuff to do, and I wish we had stayed there and explored a bit more. The only reason I am giving it 4 star instead of 5 is the fact that the electricity went out one for about 5 hours one of the days. That said, it is not the hosts fault at all, but it did sour one of our nights. Would stay there again if we visit Puerto Rico again.
We had a wonderful time on our trip. The directions on the HomeAway app was not helpful and took us through some crazy mountainous road and finally led us to an abandoned house. I called Rey, the manager and told him that we would be a little late to meet him as we were lost. We finally made it to the resort using Google maps
Once we got there the house was very well kept. Rey took us around and explained all the A/C units and laundry room supplies. The pool was small but adequate for the kids to have a great time. The kids didn't mind that the pool or the jacuzzi was not heated and the pool lights were an added touch. For the most part we were very comfortable there. The house accommodated all 10 of us. The views on the resort were beautiful and we toured a great deal of Puerto Rico. Rental cars a must to get around. The stores are in Humacao, not too bad a drive about 15-20 minutes. On the last day of our stay, we had a BBQ and invited some our family who lived there to come. It was most enjoyable and the BBQ grill was fantastic.
The manager and the owner, were very attentive to our needs. Rey was only a text away and responded very fast. The owner stopped in the first morning to refill the gas tank so we would have hot water. He talked to my husband for a while and brought back some travel books. The exterminator came to spray one day but we were informed the day of arrival.
As a side note on our departure, we did let the manager know that the oven had some heating issues. Since we used the kitchen quite a bit that was a slight annoyance but he said he would let the owner know. They do have wifi in the house but both the master bedrooms don't have very good reception so you need to go to the other parts of the house. The water pressure in lower part of the master bedroom is a bit tricky and you need to run it a little while before you get hot water. I worked around that issue and was able to have a few nice warm showers.
The staff were a pleasure to work with and very responsive. The house is gorgeous and really neat how it's built around the gorgeous pool. Keeps it quiet for all as people can stay up late in the living space, and others sleeping in the room can't hear them. The house could use some basic amenities like decent pillows and linens, new beds (current ones are hard and very uncomfortable), basic spices, and cooking equipment - people are coming on vacation and don't carry these things. This house is great, but the most bare bones I've ever seen a rental property in terms of what they provide. We brought our own pool floaties and beach towels- which is a must, they don't provide. Also, house location is far from any beaches you'd want to spend time at so recommend being ready to drive far, or stay a couple nights and then stay a couple nights in old san juan, west side of island, culebra, etc.
The house was clean, tidy, equipped, and beautifully designed within spectacular surroundings. Your family and friends will love it and will not be disappointed.
