The Barn at Andrew House offers self-catering accommodation of a very high standard at Stainton. An ideal location for exploring the Lake District, Eden and north Cumbria. Just one field away from the Lake District National Park while only 5 minutes’ drive from the M6 and Penrith. Secluded position and surrounded by open spaces with views to the mountains and a hay meadow beyond the beautiful garden. The Barn is a recent addition as it was previously a private home but shares parking and gardens with Andrew House and the Cottage. Ideal for a family of four or for two couples, the accommodation is recently upgraded and redecorated.

Since opening up Andrew House Barn in summer 2014, we’ve had plenty of delighted customers who’ve appreciated the extra space and accessibility of the property as well as the secluded location and great outdoor spaces.

“The Barn at Andrew House is a home from home property with everything you could ever need for a peaceful and relaxing break. The Barn is comfortable, warm and equipped to excellent standards. John and Tina were so welcoming and allowed us to treat the property as our own. The area is quiet, peaceful and so relaxing – we enjoyed sitting watching the numerous birds that visited the garden daily. Ideal for visiting Ullswater and other areas of the Lake District and local walks can be taken from the property itself. A week wasn’t long enough and we will certainly be returning very soon.”

About John & Tina Brown

John and Tina Brown have lived in Andrew House in the Eden district of Cumbria, just outside the Lake District National Park, since 1995.

“We refurbished part of the main house as the Cottage in 1997,” explains Tina, “and it’s proved popular with couples of all ages, especially anyone seeking a peaceful spot away from the honeypots of the Lake District but still only a short distance from the fells. We created the Barn in 2014 as family-sized self-catering accommodation and it also backs on to our very own hay meadow.”

◾The Cottage sleeps 2 in one double bedroom.

◾The Barn sleeps 4 in two bedrooms, one a double and one a twin.

◾Both properties have great views and overlook beautiful gardens.

◾Plenty of parking as well as storage for bikes and canoes.

◾Quiet and secluded, Andrew House is just one field away from the Lake District National Park.

◾Easy access to the M6 and A66 mean that Stainton is an easy drive to all of northern and western Cumbria, including Carlisle and Hadrian’s Wall, and into the Lake District.

We love where we live – our home, the gardens, the village of Stainton and the surrounding landscape. And we enjoy helping our visitors to make the most of the area and to find their own perfect holiday.
