Why Rick Wrigley chose PTown
I purchased this 5 acre parcel of land in 1995 and have designed and built 4 custom houses here. My experience as a furniture designer/maker has enabled me give special attention to the finishes and detailing of the houses.

We had a great stay at the Porch House. The property manager was very responsive and easy to work with. The house was clean as a whistle upon our arrival. It is in a great location -- close to town but secluded off the main street. The house is very well maintained and the owner pays attention to the details to ensure a pleasant stay including supplying the house with wood for fires in the fireplace for our New Year'e Eve stay. Highly recommended!
The Porch House makes me want to go home and slap my own house. We LOVED our long weekend here!
We’ve been coming to PTown for 25 years and have never wanted to spend more time in our rental than out and about, until now. The Porch House cul de sac is tucked away off of Bradford St., 2 blocks from Fanizzi’s restaurant and a 3 minute walk to the East End Market the opposite way. Very, very quiet and wooded, we were here in November, and I imagine in the height of summer it is even more private and lush with greenery. The house itself was built with an eye for detail: lovely baseboards, and beadboard downstairs, decorative trim and wellmade, solid doors throughout with the most beautiful hardware. We were left plenty of kindling and firewood for the fireplace and the house is built so well, that it stayed warm and cozy all weekend - not a single draft. Not one. There is a full, and a half bath both upstairs, 2 bedrooms side by side with cathedral ceilings and ceiling fans and a linen closet upstairs. The house is all off-white inside, which adds to the open and airy feel, it’s really a beautiful place and very thoughtfully built. Rick and Rachel were incredibly easy to work with and very accommodating at the last minute when we needed an extra night. We had a couple of questions upon arriving and Rachel was easy to get ahold of, responsive and helpful. We did not hear our neighbor through the soundproof wall at all; I hope he had the same experience when we had a dog bark here and there during the weekend. In a nutshell, this house had everything we would need or want in a home away from home, this has been the best experience we have had here in town in many years. Thanks to you both for offering and maintaining such a special place; we hope to be invited back to enjoy your amazing properties for many years to come. Best, Maureen & Scott Burr
What a thoughtful review! It's so nice to have guests who truly appreciate our house!
`The Home Away From Home in P-Town!
This lovely appointed him makes it as simple as just packing a bag and visiting friends cottage for the weekend. The home is well appointed with a very private outdoor shower and indoors 1.5 baths. the Kitchen is stocked well with supplies for those who love to cook The house has a great porch with rockers and Adirondack chairs and also has high end washer and dryer in the basement with beach chairs, umbrellas, and pails and shovels. Perfect for two and great for 4. Love this place and Rick--a homeowner who cares. This lovely place is right next to the Provincetown theater --off Bradford St. Will always keep
Rick's properties as my "go to" for any visit to P.Town....Hoping you might consider some new cushions for the living room chairs...? Otherwise, great stay!
Thanks for the feedback ~ 'Will order new cushions this week!
great Ptown oasis
This is the 3rd summer staying in one of the properties that make up this cul-de-sac like neighborhood in the east end of Provincetown (our 2nd year in a row staying in this specific property). Pluses: great location if you want off the beaten path, quiet, and good amount of space for a week vacation. Three adults and 1 dog easily had plenty of space in this two floor small house. It's a nice break from the hustle & bustle of Commercial Street; the front porch is a great place to wake up & have coffee in the morning or chill with a glass of wine in the evening. Another plus is 1.5 baths, outdoor shower, good open floor space on the first floor, and two decent size bedrooms (one is larger than the other, but both are good size). The finished basement has a washer & dryer, which is great to have, especially if you to pack light and want to do a wash or two during your stay. Finally, the owner is very attentive and responsive when there are problems, very friendly & easy to talk to (from little things like not having a working wine opener to big things like a problem with the washer, he responds quickly & gets things fixed). Downsides: not really a negative, but if you want to get into the heart of Commercial Street, you have to plan ahead as it's a bit of a walk (about 15 - 20 minutes, depending on how fast you walk). For some, having a bike may be essential to getting to the heart of town quickly, but I personally enjoy the walk. The only other major downside is that the furniture is not very comfortable: the living room sofa & chairs and the bedroom sets could all use an update (they're a bit worn and new sofa, chairs & dining set downstairs would make it even more cozy & comfortable, and new bed, side tables & dressers could make the bedrooms nicer). All in all, a good price for the amount of space, amenities and privacy that you get. Definitely will stay here again!
Great property, great location. A real treat.
It was fantastic to be in a secluded spot in the middle of it all. The little compound was a real oasis. The house itself was comfortable and roomy with great light. It felt clean and modern with a suitable helping of cottage charm. I especially appreciated the high ceilings in the bedrooms and the ceiling fans -- both inside and under the porch. The house was cozy and warm on our rainy day and airy and open when the sun was out. I would recommend the Porch House to any and all.
Perfect hidden gem in the east end of Provincetown
The porch house is one of three houses tucked back behind the theater on Bradford. It's amazing how remote you feel....like a little community! We had neighbors in the other two houses who were awesome. All of us enjoyed some interaction and private time. The house was SPOTLESS when we arrived. It looks recently remodeled. Very clean and new. We all had bikes so we were able to get to town or the west end rather quickly but the house isn't too far east so walking to town or the west end is an easy walk. House is very quiet and well stocked (sheets/towels/cooking utensils, pots and pans etc. - we cooked in 2 of the 4 nights.) Both beds comfortable. Bedrooms seem to be identical in size so there was no "you got the bigger room" haha. Rachel was there when we arrived and we had a great chat with her. So sweet and very, very responsive leading up to the trip. No issues while we were there so no need to contact her although I did leave a book there and she found it! All in all a great place to stay. A++
Provincetown is perched on the uppermost tip of Cape Cod. In the summer, the population of this quaint fishing village swells to 30,000. 'P-Town,' attracts a cosmopolitan mix of people and is a haven for artists, writers, actors, and musicians. A vibrant nightlife is offered for both gays and straights. A stroll through town will take visitors past and eclectic mix of historic sights, tourist shops, and clusters of, picturesque homes surrounded by flower gardens. On a clear day, it is possible to have a 360° view of the entire Cape from the top of Pilgrim Monument. There are miles of ocean and bay beaches in Provincetown and the many walking and biking trails in the protected National Seashore provide visitors with views of ponds, cranberry bogs, beech forests, and sand dunes. Whale watching, sailing, and fishing trips depart daily from the harbor.
