About the property

Warm Welcome to Cherwell Lodge in our 7 acre grounds adjacent to the main house Boquio Farm, set up high surrounded by beautiful countryside with glorious views yet very near and with easy access to many attractions and lovely coves and beaches as we are centrally situated within 8 miles of north, south and west coasts. This delightful single storey barn with it's own secluded patio/garden and BBQ offers comfortable, peaceful and relaxing stay. There is ample, safe off-road parking area next to the property, with only two steps up to the main entrance hallway through to Cherwell Lodge. The Lodge offers light, airy yet cosy comfortable open-plan living/kitchen/diner with King-size sofa bed, easy chair, table and chairs, flat screen TV/Cd/Dvd, cooker, microwave, washing machine, fridge and freezer, all cutlery, plates etc, with large window overlooking the enclosed garden. There is a very large double bedroom with fitted wardrobes, dressing table and seat, chest of drawers, mirrors, side tables with lamps and large double glazed window looking out to the garden. The double bed has a memory foam mattress with 4 pillows, duvet, fitted sheets and bedspread. Separate bathroom with basin, toilet and shower cubicle with electric shower. There is oil-fired heating with radiators in each room. The enclosed garden is spacious with a mix of lawn and patio and is totally secluded and a wonderful sun-trap! There are table and chairs and a BBq with coals supplied free of charge. There are also picnic tables in the main front gardens for your use, so you can relax and enjoy the glorious views and there is access to great walks very near by. For cyclists we offer a locked barn for you to store your bikes. Wi-fi is available on request.

Available locally to us is walking, golf course, cycling, waterboarding/surfing, horse riding, sailing and canoeing plus we have two local pubs within one mile, the New Inn has a restaurant most recommended with excellent food and they are very welcoming. There is Tesco and Sainsburys 24 hour opening in Helston famous for it's Furry dance and has many shops, banks, chemists, cafes, restaurants, take-away of all types, small boating lake, Cinema, doctors surgeries, dentists and much more, only some 3.5 miles away.

We are very near to many attractions, within 1 mile is the famous Poldark Mines, then into Helston is Flambards Theme Park recently refurbished and Treasure Park, the renowned Porth Leven with it's lovely harbour, surounded by shops, pubs/restaurants and the beach just up past the harbour. The amazing Seal Sanctuary in Gweek with shop and Pub/restaurant, Pendennis Castle, the most visited and magnificent St. Michael's Mount in Marazion with it's numerous amenities, Penzance just up the road from there and of course St. Ives!. There are beautiful beaches and coves such as Kenneck Sands, the amazing Sennen Cove, Kynance Cove and the glorious Lizard Peninsula, with it's many shops, good parking, pubs, restaurants and it's most famous Fish & Chip Shop/restaurant! Falmouth is within 8 miles with busy port, boat rides, shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Truro a most attractive city with it's beautiful Cathedral, The Hall for Cornwall and much much more is within easy access some 15 miles distant. Plus we are not far from the North Cornish Coast with all it's rugged beauty, great surfing, many amazing walks and much more.

About The Owner

We are Andy and Debby and we live in Boquio Farm where Cherwell Lodge is in our 7 acres of grounds adjacent to the house. We moved here in February 2012 and set about doing everything up as it was very run down and unloved! All is done but of course maintaining never stops! The views are wonderful and the set-up is lovely as the property is surrounded by our land and as we have three horses, we are able to see them from the house in which ever field they are in which is great, so we can watch them play from time to time and keep an eye out to make sure they are all o.k.

Why The Owner chose Wendron

We fell in love with Boquio when we came to view and first saw the property from the road, even though it was in need of TLC, the area, the views, land, house and just everything were what we were looking for. Andy had been to this area most summers for over 30 years and loved the beaches and all that was on offer, Helston a great little town, yet Falmouth, Truro and Newquay so very near and easy to get to, basically we are central to everything here which is great for us and any visitors.

What makes this barn unique

I think the unique features are the setting of the property, it is quite different to most other properties round here, also the views and peacefulness, yet we are not isolated at all and of course we are central to beaches north, south and west and the great places to visit are all within easy access. Writing this out has made me realize yet again just how lucky we are to live here and it actually is our own oasis!
