Charming country cottage in a beautiful quiet village in Dorset. There is plenty of entertaining space and also space to eat outside and sunbathe, and a hot tub to relax in. Good sized gardens at both the front and back of the house mean kids have room to enjoy themselves and there is also a trampoline for the kids to play on. The house is situated in the heart of Cranborne Chase, the sixth largest area of outstanding natural beauty in the UK. There are 5 double bedrooms all with double beds, a wood burning fire in a large sitting room with a big table for dinners and entertaining. There is a conservatory for relaxing, large kitchen with an AGA and a rangemaster. 2 bathrooms with bath and showers in both and a TV in the bath downstairs for the kids! There are 2 large bedrooms downstairs - one has a 4 poster bed and a 7ft very comfy bed. The 2 bedrooms upstairs are both doubles. There is a double bedroom up the winding stairs off the sitting room which would not be that suitable for young children. There are lots of things to do for couples and families and lots of good pubs nearby. It is 30 minutes from the beaches at both bournemouth and poole.
The property is superb and in lovely settings. It is very spacious and will accommodate a family of ten, although the fifth bedroom, in the loft, is a little smaller than the other four.
I would highly recommend it and have booked it again for next year, perhaps recommendation enough.
Positive points, clean and well maintained. Good customer service, thanks to the owner's parents. Hot tub is a real bonus. Plenty of space for parking. Lots of attractions, particularly for children, within a reasonable driving distance of the property.
We arrived after 19 days on a cruise to a quiet beautiful cottage with room enough for my 4 kids to run around and relax. This location was central to everything we wanted to see and do in the week we were in Dorset - Stonehenge, Salisbury, Bournemouth, the New Forest, and Winchester were all an easy drive away. The surrounding villages were full of great shopping and great food (especially Monmouth Ash in Verwood). The cottage itself is roomy and well appointed in decor and gardens. The perfect place to rest after a busy month!
This is a beautiful house in a pretty Dorset village. We’re a group of 10 women in their 30s who stayed for a long weekend. The house was really well equipped and had plenty of space for us to eat together and sit together in the evenings, either out in the garden, at the dining or kitchen table or in the living room, which was cosy and welcoming. It’s well placed for Moors Country Park and for rural walks close by and we also drove down to Durdle Door and Lulworth, which took just under an hour by car. Only downside is that there are only two bathrooms, but they’re large and each has a bath and separate shower (with double sink in one), so fine if you don’t mind sharing.
We had a wonderful three days with two of our adult children and partners and without exception all fell in love with the home and it's surroundings
Would recommend it to anyone
