This cabin truly is in the BEST LOCATION in Jackson Hole. Close to JH Mountain Resort, with direct 8 minute bus service to the slopes. The same bus takes you to downtown. All the services you could possibly want are readily available.

We want you to have only pleasant surprises when you arrive, so please read the description we provide in it's entirety! We're happy to answer any questions!

When you walk in through the gate of this rustic paradise, you enter a world unto itself. Yet outside the gate you’re in the most sought after neighborhood in the Rocky Mountain West! The rental is attached to our French inspired log home.

We maintain the cabin in accordance with the criteria as set forth by the Partnership for Global Sustainable Tourism. These criteria were designed for larger organizations, so we adapt them to our situation (one of a kind rental) and adhere as closely as we can to these criteria. Questions welcome, or check them out by doing a Google search for Partnership for Global Sustainable Tourism.

The cabin was hand built and is truly unique. Please feel free to ask any questions about size, access, stairways, etc. We have had so many charmed guests and we are committed to making sure this cabin is a good fit for YOU.

One bedroom, huge deck, great gardens (including a small stream and pond). Old world window hardware, claw foot tub, floor-to-ceiling barn sash windows in bathroom. Small rooms, low ceilings, exposed log perlins, plank floors and ceilings, hand scribed chinking. It is rustic and real with artistic touches and is truly unique. The adorable cabin is filled with maps, books, brochures, coupons, recommendations, insider tips and more. The plethora of nooks and crannies, and sense of abundance, belie the small carbon footprint of this green building and garden. The garden is completely chemical free, so everyone can feel great about sitting outside and enjoying the surroundings.

We continually upgrade and improve the cabin. Recent improvements include a new kitchen, additional cooking equipment, an 85 year old carved Belgian sofa, plush Nepali rugs and always professional detail cleaning. All you could ever ask for...

  • 5 of 5

My Wife and I decided to spend the month of July in the Jackson Hole area...we've always had a special love for the Tetons and all it has to offer. The challenging part of the plan...where to stay. My wife found this lovely cabin online that appeared to be just what we needed. Upon our arrival and throughout our 4 week stay...the cabin and the hosts, Beth and Phil, exceeded all our expectations. The cabin was just awesome...a real comfortable place with all the comforts of home. Beth and Phil could not have been nicer...so fun to have around to chat from time to time. They made us feel welcome and we felt so at home coming and going from our many hikes and long walks. As we look back, where we stayed truly helped make our trip a wonderful vacation.

BEYOND AWESOME!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first renting experience on VRBO. I'm thrilled to report that our first experience was BEYOND AWESOME! This property was true to it's very description on VRBO. The pictures of the property are every bit in person as they appear on VRBO-beautiful! The booking of this property was a breeze. Everything was in order, easy to understand & fully explained. Any questions outside of the property/contract were quickly answered and with sincere excitement for our upcoming experience which I truly appreciated. When I stepped off the plane in Jackson Hole, the view literally took my breathe away & made me emotional. As we drove to the property, I thought to myself, "I hope this place doesn't disappoint." I can't say it enough! As soon as we opened the gate door & were greeted by the pathway, the trees, the little brook, the flowers, the twinkle lights, the peacefulness...& I hadn't even gotten to the cabin yet...I was smiling from ear to ear. All of the instructions we were given prior, from the greeting note, to the key in the door and all of the lights on - I let out a gasp and said to my husband, "This place is beautiful!" and then asked him to sit outside with our luggage so I could take pictures before we started "living" in it. LOL! Sorry, I did! There was a greeting basket with champagne, apples, cheese and chocolate. The cabin was just as cozy inside as outside. Everything was clean, orderly, easy to find & any necessity that a person could need - it was all there. I loved every inch of this property. There wasn't an icky place anywhere. My favorite spot was to grab a cup of coffee in the morning-when we weren't leaving to beat the crowds as 5am-I would sit in the bed all cuddled up with the comfortable pillows & watch the view out the wall of windows-the trees in the breeze, the wood fence, a horse in the distance. We were told that our privacy was important to our hosts & they valued theirs as well-it was true-I did not feel like I had people watching our every move. We felt so comfortable being able to come and go-never once did we feel like we were inhibiting the other's space. On the rare occasion we would bump into someone- soo friendly! Anything we wanted to see, anything we may need (groceries, gas, etc.) or routes we needed to get to, all right there. So convenient to so many things. Due to the Berry Fire, sadly we had to adjust our vacation plans but I can assure you, I would not hesitate to go back to Beth & Phil!! <3 <3 <3

Cabin is very small and cramped

  • 1 of 5

Location is on a busy highway. Windows without screens must remain open due to no AC. Very steep steps to upstairs bedroom and bathroom. Shower is awful. Old sofa is very uncomfortable. "Luxury" linens are from Ikea. Place is crowded with old furniture. Large step up to toilet area. Outdoor space is not very appealing. Greywater drains into pond. No stream in summer. Not a "paradise" location.

Owners were pleasant and seemed genuinely surprised that we were not happy with our accommodations.

Owner's Response: Please read our other reviews and decide if our sincere efforts to communicate the vernacular authenticity of this amazing hand crafted log home are effective. We welcome people who would enjoy this property.  Feel free to contact us if you think you are a good fit. These reviewers signed and returned two binding contracts in which they agreed that they had viewed and understood the 5000 word detailed descriptions and 45 un-retouched photos provided to them. These documents included no fewer than four references to the stairs and a specific indication of square footage.  All features and furnishings are clearly shown and very realistic. They were seen enjoying the stream that flows from the Snake River (no gray water systems) while drinking the wine and eating the bread, cheese, chocolate and fruit provided to them. Please encourage VRBO to update their system of reviews of the traveller from the host so that we can all ensure that the VRBO community continues to thrive. For 25 years we have hosted intelligent, gracious and honest guests (with this one exception).

Charming cabin in a peaceful setting

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed for three nights and knew as soon as we walked through the gate that three nights would not be a long enough stay. Beth and Phil are masterful at making you feel at home from the warm welcome you receive to the use of their property. They are available, if needed, and provide information about the cabin and the Jackson Hole area. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and inside the cabin after busy days exploring. The charming character of the cabin and the decor as well as the pathways added to the relaxed feeling of being "away from it all".

Notes:
Before environmentally friendly building was a popular idea, this property was built by serious mountaineer/artists and designed to maximize the insulating qualities of logs, the southern light, water use/reuse, and other energy saving and aesthetic qualities of the site. The magic walk beneath three hundred year old spruce down a fairy-light path (leaving the road and cars behind) allows cares and constraints to fall away. The garden is a trick mirror of space relationships—taller than it is wide or long—with a pond and little bridge. Excellent soil has created itself from decades of slough from the abundance of huge trees.
