The Yachtsman offers high quality self-catering accommodation in the heart of nautical Cowes, close to all facilities in this vibrant seaside town.

The property is ideal for sailors, walkers and cyclists, being ideally situated close to the marinas, footpaths and cycle paths. There is a drying room with sink for coping with wet and/or dirty clothes and boots, and ample undercover storage.

Cowes is also a well placed town from which families can explore the whole Island, or spend time at the pebble beach at Cowes seafront on the picturesque Solent.

The Yachtsman provides spacious accommodation for 8-10 guests, in 4 Bedrooms on the 1st and 2nd floors, comprising a Master Double Bedroom with ensuite Shower/WC, a Bunk Room, a Twin Bedroom which can be adapted to accommodate 3 single beds, and a King Size Bedroom with the option of an additional single bed for close friends or children. The Double and King Beds benefit from luxury duck feather duvets and mattress toppers. There is a Bathroom with shower over, and a separate Shower/WC.

On the ground floor there is a Sitting Room which provides a quiet haven from the outside hustle and bustle. The cosy Snug attached to the Kitchen/Breakfast area allows guests to relax in comfortable surroundings while being in touch with the activity in the Kitchen.

Outside there is a south facing garden with a large split level deck, enjoying an enviable mix of sun and shade from sunrise to sunset, with patio furniture, and a BBQ.

The Outhouse has a fridge, sink, and a long hanging rail with electric heater under for drying clothes. The adjoining 2nd World War Air Raid Shelter provides a secure indoor storage area.

The Yachtsman has been awarded 4* by Visit England, the National Tourist Board for England. "Centrally located within the nautical town of Cowes and a short walk away from all the local amenities and attractions making this an ideal base as this multi-generational accommodation can ably cater for a wide range of market sectors".

Good Vacation Rental

We stayed for 3 days at the Yachtsman and overall it was a very good holiday home with excellent amenities and well laid out rooms for our party of 7. The town was very close by with lots of restaurants, shopping and tourist sights all within easy reach.

The only negative we can state would be the fact we stayed for three days and our included guest parking permit ended the day before we left and resulted in an unnecessary parking charge. We trust this that the host rectifies this for future guests and clearly informs them of parking times etc.

Owner's Response: I am pleased that these guests enjoyed their stay at The Yachtsman and on the Isle of Wight. I do however regret that they have chosen to be disingenious about their parking permit. These guests stayed from Monday 26 June for 3 nights, checking out on Thursday 29 June. I provided a parking permit from 07:00 on Monday 26 June as I had accommodated their request to check-in earlier than advertised (although in the event they did not arrive until late in the day as they had not made a ferry booking) until 07:00 on the morning of Thursday 29 June. As soon as the parking permit had been arranged I emailed the guests a copy of the confirmation which clearly stated these arrangements. I am sorry that the guests were issued with a parking fine, but this was due entirely to their own omission and I am not at fault on this occasion.

Excellent, well equipped , clean,comfortable and welcoming

We stayed in this property last year and enjoyed it so much we came back this year, the location is excellent for central Cowes and the house lacks for nothing.

Fantastic house, great location

The house was perfect - really clean and comfortable, lots of space, and one of the best equipped holiday homes we have ever stayed in. There were lots of extra touches which were greatly appreciated. It had everything we needed, and more, and it is in a great location - really close to the centre of Cowes, yet in a quiet residential street.

A wonderful family break at the Yachtsman

We had a lovely stay over the post Christmas and New Year period. The house was perfect for the 10 of us. It was immaculate and lovingly presented with all of the extras you could hope for. Lots of social space and good sized bedrooms. Cowes was a stones throw away and offered some great pubs and restaurants. The owner was helpful from start to finish and I would certainly recommend the house to other people interested in staying in and around Cowes.

Fantastic house. We want to go back.

Beautiful house. Very clean, new carpets and freshly decorated. Had everything you could need. The location in Cowes was great, quick walk to town for shops and pubs. It can be difficult to find parking on the road (and none of us were used to parallel parking!) but there is a car park nearby. My teenagers were impressed by the amount of TV's and the good wifi. I wouldn't recommend the house for people it for people with mobility issues because the stairs are steep and all the toilets are on the first floor but apart from that it is absolutely perfect.
