Before moving to France in 2005, Dave worked as a self-employed Builder and I as a Legal Executive in Conveyancing. We decided to try the 'good life' and have kept sheep, pigs, chickens, raised turkeys and continue to grow our own vegetables. We love the outdoor life and our favourite thing is to sit in the garden enjoying a glass of wine.
Helen purchased this cottage in 2001
We love the fact that we are in the countryside with lots of open space but still within walking distance of the village of Cuves, a five minute drive to Brécey with all the amenities we need, and still able to get to the Beach at Jullouville without getting stuck in traffic.
The beautiful views of the gentle Normandy hills and the lush green countryside.
We went 4 days in Helen and David's gite. It was a wonderful stay for us. We went with our two years old girl who was very happy to see chickens, cows and sheeps. The place is very quiet. David and Helen are perfect hosts and very attentive with us. Their recommendations for visiting Normandy and Brittany are very good. We enjoyed breakfasts with fresh bread, croissants and homemade jam. Thank you David and Helen for these wonderful days. We really hope to be back
We recently enjoyed a very relaxing and quiet week at Les Hirondelles. The owners, Helen and Dave, made us feel very welcome and were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast, which was included in the package price, provided an excellent opportunity to get to know both Helen and Dave and our fellow holidaymakers. We will be enthusiastically recommending the property to our friends and relatives.
Set in charming rural surroundings we were very pleasantly surprised at the size of the gite which is comfortably furnished with most items you would need. Helen and Dave were very welcoming hosts and having the included breakfast every day meant you met fellow guests, who, when we stayed, were from Italy, Spain and France. We certainly enjoyed our few days at Les Hirondelles and would certainly return if we were in the area again. Tony & Ann - Jersey
