This cozy little beach side cottage, is located across the street from the beautiful beach in Hauula, which is on the Windward coast of Oahu. The cottage is reminiscent of old Hawaii. Originally built in 1946, the cottage was renovated in 2006. It is a little slice of paradise with great views of the mountains out back and the ocean in front.
The beach right across the street is great for swimming--the water is clear and calm. The large yard is great for playing, and there is a patio in the back for barbecuing. You can sit on the front porch and watch the sunrise and the ocean. Or you can hang out under the plumeria tree in the yard and relax. The back bedroom has an air conditioner and there are three ceiling fans. Check out the comments in our reviews!
There is also a great outdoor shower and toilet area. Three boogie boards, snorkels and masks are provided as well as everything you would need to kick back and have a great stay in this very special place filled with aloha.
Feel the Aloha of Old Hawaii: Our cottage is a slice of the past with all of the modern conveniences. We have some restored authentic furniture, plus the latest leather furniture with a look of the 1930's. There are several books about Hawaii as well as visitor guidebooks.
Our family beach cottage.: This cottage has been in our family since the 1960's. It was built in 1946 and has been renovated twice--most recently in 2006. Our children and now our grandchildren enjoy spending time here. There's lots of room in the large yard to play and the beach is right across the street. The street is Kamehameha Highway, the highway that goes almost around the island of Oahu. The beautiful mountains can be seen from the back of the cottage.

I must say this is one of its kind place in Oahu away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Perfect location right in front of the beach. The pictures should tell you the rest. Cottage is very cozy and a perfect setting for a family of 2 - 4. Front yard is huge and we enjoyed a lot sitting on the front porch gazing into the ocean.
Cottage has central cooling system which was more than sufficient for us. Bedroom in the back also has an AC. Bedroom in the front has the view of the ocean. Both the bedrooms are cozy and have sufficient space for a couple. Bathroom was a bit small but nonetheless, it served its purpose well. Only thing I would recommend is that an exhaust vent in the bathroom might be good to have.
Although the place is right next to the highway, we did not have any noise related trouble at all. The place is roughly 30 - 45 min from most of the scenic attractions that Oahu has to offer.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Dianne for being such a wonderful host to us. We will definitely consider this place again.
From the time we arrived at Sunrise Cottage till we reluctantly left, we fell in love with this property. Every need and desire was met, even before we knew it. The cottage was spotless and so very loved. It had a beautiful porch in front with a view of the ocean across the street. Watching the sunrise we know how the "Sunrise Cottage" got its name. OUTSTANDING. The home was so well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Even beach equipment was there. From the back porch we saw no less than 7 rainbows over the Mountains. Bring a swimsuit and you are in heaven for your stay. WE CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN!!!!! A real Jewel. Margaret & Bill Provost Florida
Again we've been to this lovely northshore cottage in paradise. Staying almost for a week, it has been to short and we could have stayed much longer. This time we visited polynesian cultural center in Laie which is a short drive from the cottage and is highly recommended. The cottage is really cosy and offers a different type of vacation. If returning to Oahu, we will definitely stay here again. Special thanks to Dianne! It's a pleasure to have a caring owner like you! See you
Quite frankly the most relaxing, enjoyable and convenient home I have ever been in! This lovely cottage had everything you could ever think of or need, literally. If I could permanently live in this cottage, I would! If you are looking for a home to rent look no further than this amazing cottage; quite, conveniently close to everything (beach, stores & North Shore) & spacious (there were 3 of us).
Clean, well stocked, away from the crowds, easy commute around the island and.....your own personal beach across the street. It was wonderful to "come home" and relax after full days of exploring. Dianne was the perfect hostess and the pride of ownership is evident. Everything is provided and we so appreciated not having to purchase the snorkeling equipment and water shoes. We loved sitting on the porch surrounded by lovely landscaping. The sunrise from the water across the street is not to be missed. Only negative.....we did not stay long enough! Mahalo!
Polynesian Cultural Center
The stay was totally perfect.
Nice house. Great proximity to the shops, sea and beach.
Amazing, if we come back to Hawaï we will go there.
Thank you a lot for your hospitality.
