Thoroughly we enjoyed finding everything you need for a comfortable holiday. The hospitality of the owners was very friendly and outgoing.
We were welcomed even at short notice after calling Gael holiday homes. We found it very comfortable and warm and could have stayed longer. Wifi worked very well and had DVDs to watch and lots of tv channels. Annie and Donald provide wonderful hospitality and were friendly and helpful. Just next door if you need anything or would like to visit the sheep, cows or chickens they will take you on a tour. We loved it and it's only a short drive to Inverness city centre.
Maranatha Cottage is a wonderful place to stay, convenient to Inverness and roads in all directions, yet located in the quiet countryside on a working farm (without any barnyard smell). The house was easy to find (using GPS coordinates and directions from owner, do not let your GPS use the street address). The guest areas are very spacious, fresh and sparkling clean, pleasantly decorated, and tastefully arranged with premium furniture. The living room has lovely views (big windows on three sides) and an instant-on fireplace. The eat-in kitchen is fully equipped for real self-catering, including a full-size refrigerator and a stove with oven (works well). We used the high-efficiency washer, and if you need it (we did not) the tumble dryer is there too. Anne provided homemade scones for our arrival – delicious! The master suite has a very comfortable bed and en-suite bathroom (shower with instant hot water). We loved every minute staying here, and wish we had stayed much longer!
Everything was perfect. The owner is charming and welcoming. She was very helpful in directing us to the area's attractions. We strongly recommend this house to all travellers.
Do not follow sat-nav directions. Follow the A9 about 5 miles south of Inverness, take the B9154 (signposted Moy and Daviot East) for approximately 1 mile. Continue around a tight bend and take the first road on the left, signposted Dalroy. Follow this road for 0.6 mile until you see three houses - a white bungalow on the left and one on the right, and a large sandstone house with a balcony. When you reach the large house you will see a tarred driveway level with the road on your right and ‘Maranatha’ on the gatepost.
