Another very pleasant visit
We had another very enjoyable stay in this lovely cottage, friendly owners - and had super weather.
Just spent a great week at Craobhan Cottage. A beautiful location and everything about this smart and well equipped Cottage was just what we wanted it to be. Owners Danny and Annette are lovely, friendly people and great hosts. Would thoroughly recommend and very much hope to return.
Best cottage we've stayed in
We have stayed here for the last 4 or 5 years. We are always warmly welcomed by the owners and this includes a bottle of wine, box of biscuits and everything needed to make tea and coffee. The cottage is well appointed, clean and comfortable. The area has stunning scenery and lots to do.
Beautiful cottage and wildlife
This was one of the nicest properties we have stayed in. It was well-designed, tastefully decorated and in immaculate order. We really enjoyed watching a host of bird life and in particular red squirrels. We will definitely return here.
Craobhan Cottage, October 2017
Our 4th stay at Craobhan Cottage was all we expected. Great location with spectacular views over the Cromarty Firth & loads of attractions within reasonable travelling distance. Weather was reasonable for the time of year. Our hosts, Danny & Annette could not have been more hospitable, as always.
October on the Black Isle
Despite it being October the Black Isle maintained its reputation for good weather. It only rained overnight, day time temperatures were above the norm and the sun shone on the hay bales. Location is good; you can go coastal to Nairn and Fort George; you can go cross country to Ullapool; you can go inland to the Falls of Shin or you can stay put at the cottage watching the birds and red squirrels. That's it. Good weather, good location, good accommodation, what more can you want? Good hosts? Danny and Annette and Maisie were ideal hosts.
From Inverness follow the A9 north over the Kessock Bridge to the Tore roundabout. Take the third exit north towards Thurso and Wick and continue for three miles. Turn right to Culbokie on the B9169. Drive through the village and turn right beside the football and recreation grounds as you leave the village. Continue for approximately 1.5 miles and then turn left towards Culbo. After another 1.5 miles take a left at the Craobhan Cottage sign. Follow the road round to the left - the cottage is a short distance along the private track.
