Great for large groups, Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties wanting privacy & luxury. Furnished with beautiful Antiques, Original Historic Architectural details, stained glass, beamed ceilings plus a 42' Plasma flat screen TV in the Main House & a 32' Plasma flat Screen TV in the Mardi Gras apt. You can rent our entire Property for only $1,500.00 to $1,900.00 (depending on season & special events) For the utmost in privacy and comfort.

History of property.: Experience all of wonderful New Orleans while staying in one of the oldest Creole Cottages in the city. This home was built circa. 1808 and has some of the finest examples of architecture and details fashionable in the late 1700’s and early 1800’s. You will be staying one short block from the French Quarter and one block from Bourbon Street. Our cottage is luxuriously furnished and elegantly decorated, having antiques from the mid to late 1800’s.

THE HISTORY OF THIS AMAZING HOME

This elegantly decorated Creole Cottage built, “of columbage and bricked between post” circa. 1808, is one of the rarest examples of early Creole cottage architecture remaining to date. This home is in the first subdivision of New Orleans named Faubourg Marigny. The plantation was subdivided in March 16 1806. This home retains almost all of its original architectural features including; its rare Ram’s horn hinges and original latches on the French glass doors.

More history of property.: There are also very outstanding long latches which were used to open and close the doors. The ceilings are original and are “dressed and beaded” which are rare to find intact to day. The mantels are the most distinguishing interior elements in Creole domestic architecture. Two of the mantels are box mantels in the style dating from the late 1700’s to 1810 with columns supporting a frieze having strong horizontal moldings. The floors are beautiful large plank and the original moldings are intact. This property was sold to one of the first women of color to purchase property in the United States. Madame Magdalene Baure’ purchased three lots which now form the sites of 1426 and 1434 Burgundy and of 928, 930 and 934 Kerlerec. This property now has 4 other cottages, two of which were believed to be very early barge board cottages from the early 1800’s most likely moved here at a later date.

Why Trinna Thompson, Manager or Scott Thompson, Owner chose Downtown

Living in Nashville TN we decided we Loved New Orleans so much that we could not stay away. Renting Hotels or an Apartment once a Month was not working. So we bought our first Guest House in year 2000 in the 2300 block of Royal Street. We then decided that we very much enjoyed the experience of owning a guest house. So when the opportunity to Purchase The Kerlerec House in early 2004 arose we did so, and never looked back. Not to say that Katrina did not give us a major tail spin. But we persevered and looked ahead. There are regular guests that have been staying at The Kerlerec Guest House since 1998 and come every year for Jazz Fest as well as for other events. These people are the reason that we love the ownership of our Guest House.

The Kerlerec House is one of the few VRBO places that is even better than advertised. Perfect for large groups and easy walking distance to Frenchmen (my personal favorite for great live music) and Bourbon St. You feel like you're in New Orleans from the decor of the interior to the palmettos in the courtyard. They provide clean sheets, towels--basically everything you'd need but food and booze. Highly recommend!

Simply Incredible.

From the second you arrive at 928 Kerlerec Street, you are welcomed by the warm, powerful embrace of this gorgeous layout of houses. As you make your way through each house, full of its own unique trinkets and Louisiana style culture, you can't help but feel as though you getting the full experience the city of New Orleans has to offer. Not only was I enamored by the houses themselves, the convenience to Bourbon Street and Frenchmen Street, but more so, the incredibly friendly, responsive, and courteous management/owner group. While our group was on its best behavior, we still managed to run into some road bumps; keys not working, clothes left behind, etc. The team at 928 Kerlerec House far exceeded our expectations. Should I ever return to New Orleans with a large group, I will coordinate my trip around the ability to stay at this great location. Thank you!

AMAZING service and a beautiful, historic home

Thank you so much for a fantastic stay at the Kerelec House! We had a huge group of girls come in to town and the owners were nothing short of amazing. The street was quiet and convenient and the house had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked (minus food) and the bathrooms and bedrooms had all the linens and toiletries ready for us. I would definitely recommend this place if you have a big group. Absolutely staying there again if we come back for another visit. Thanks Tony!

Best Housing Experience!

I stayed at the Kerlerec House on St Patty's day weekend with 14 other ladies in my group. Before the trip even started, I was in contact with Trinna and Scott and they were quick to respond to every email and answer every question I had. Payment was secure and easy. When we arrived to the house we met with Tony, who is in charge of maintenance. He gave us a tour and handed us our keys to each cottage/main house. He was one of the first people we met in New Orleans, AND one of the nicest!

Our stay was perfect and the entire living area was incredible. It was a great location and we felt very safe.

We had a couple girls who locked themselves out of their cottage (at a very late hour) and right away Tony was there to help them. The next day I even got a call from Scott, the owner, who at the time was out of town. He heard what happened was more concerned about our well being than the fact that the lock had to be broken into for them to get in. I was blown away by the customer service.

After we left, there were a number of items left behind. Trinna was extremely helpful in locating these and keeping them safe until we could get them back.

I can't thank the Kerlerec House enough for the perfect experience and place to stay for our first trip to Nola!!!! I will absolutely be recommending this as a place to say!!

Math workshop (not kidding!)

Our group had slightly different purpose than the average New Orleans tourist. We were organizing a workshop in math and we got to choose where to do it, and we went with New Orleans. We had an amazing week in NO and the Kerlerec house played a big role in that. We were 27 people, all in the 25-30 years old range. We had no trouble fitting into the house. Everything was as described, and the house is even more beautiful than the pictures. It is an old house so things break, but they get fixed. Scott was extremely helpful and really did everything he could to help us. Highly recommended!

Let the Good Times Roll

We were a group of 15 adults and we rented the whole complex in the middle of April 2015. This place has charm and is a very lovely place. We were met at the gate and given a tour of the house and shown where everything was. Given information if there was an issue who to contact. It is very historic and is located in a very excellent location. We were able to walk to many areas and see a great many things. The house has information on many things to see and do while in New Orleans. The issues that we had were attended to if we had a request they were very attentive to it. It is a shame that some people do not respect the property and abuse it. We all had a wonderful time, and it is and amazing place. We also had a relaxing time in the hot tub after a long day. It was a great decision and everyone had a great time. We were able to do the WWII museum, the Madri Gras Word, the river walk, the outlet mall, the cemetery, the Casino, Bourbon Street, Frenchman Street, New Orleans School of Cooking, The French market, Swamp tour, Laura Plantation Tour, Ghost Walk, Art Museum and eat at many wonderful Restaurants. We did not have time to do the Audubon Zoo/Aquarium or go on a steamboat ride, just so many things to do within walking distance of this Historic home. I highly recommend it to anyone with an appreciation of historic homes.
