About Lynne & Dave Cousins

Dave & I have lived in Kelowna all of our married life (43 years). Dave, a born and raised Kelownian, formerly a Phys Ed teacher/counsellor and entrepreneur keeps busy golfing, helping out family and friends & playing hockey (its no secret he lives to play hockey). Myself, formerly a primary teacher, enjoys gardening, golfing, playing bridge, decorating & spending time with family & friends. We have three wonderful grown children and two beautiful grandchildren. Together we love to travel, get together with family & friends, cheer on our WHL Kelowna Rockets and of course spend time at 'the lake'. We love living in the Okanagan & take great pride in our 'Lakehouse' We hope that you will stay with us and enjoy all that Blue Grouse Bay & the Okanagan has to offer. Like many of our guests you'll want to keep coming back year after year.

Lynne & Dave Cousins purchased this house in 1989

Why Lynne & Dave Cousins chose Okanagan Valley

We chose this two acre lakeshore property over twenty-five years ago because we wanted our children to enjoy all the wonderful experiences that come with growing up on the water. Its hard to put into words but there is something magical about the combination of children, the lake and an Okanagan summer. We loved the peaceful lakeshore setting and the close proximity to downtown. It has been a labour of love and hard work getting the property to what it is today. We built the house in 2000 and have been renting to guests since 2003. We love our lake house and enjoy sharing it with our guests, many who come back year after year.

What makes this house unique

The benefits of our rental property is the beautiful private setting with a 180 degree view of the lake and the mountains. It's like staying at your very own resort. Because we have another residence downtown and keep the main floor of the house strictly for our own use, you never need to worry about sharing the property with other renters. The suite is very bright and tastefully decorated, It is the lower level of the house which has its own private entrance and all the comforts of home. There is boat moorage for one boat and lots of parking for boat trailers which makes it perfect for those guests wanting to bring their own boat or wishing to rent a boat during their stay.

Life on the Lake.

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful property! Our week staying at Blue Grouse was amazing from the moment we met Lynne and Dave until the beautiful cloudless morning that we had to say a sad goodbye. Everything was exactly what we had hoped it would be. Gorgeous sunrises, exciting encounters with the wildlife and relaxing warm evenings on the deck were just some of the highlights. We are already planning our holiday to stay next year!

We have stayed at Blue Grouse three times over the past three summers and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Dave and Lynne are wonderful, considerate hosts and always make us feel at home. The setting is ideal, nicely appointed suite, beautiful grounds and an incredible boat dock for hanging around with family and friends. You will not be disappointed !

We spent six glorious weeks in the fall of 2014 at Blue Grouse Bay.We found it to be very quiet and peaceful

at this time of year.Afternoons were warm enough to spend sunning and reading at the dock.Morning coffee

could be enjoyed on the deck while watching the awesome sunrises and evenings brought sun diamonds on the

lake with Kelowna lights twinkling in the background. Our hosts Lynne and Dave ensured we thoroughly enjoyed

our extended stay.

Relaxing and fun week for the whole family

  • 5 of 5

Everything that you will need to make your stay comfortable is already there. We loved the big outside sitting/eating area. Dave and Lynn keep the place is pristine condition and make sure that you do not need anything. There is some fishing you can do right of the dock and lots to see and do in the vicinity. We will for sure be back as soon as we can.

Notes:
What sets this property apart from other listings is that its like having your very own place on the lake. You are not sharing the dock, lakeshore and other amenities with other vacationers. Most local resorts/condo complexes are very busy during the summer months making a peaceful, relaxing holiday difficult.
