Relaxing Beach House

  • 5 of 5

This house is wonderfully maintained and provided a relaxing place right on the beach. The house had HDTV with a flat screen, wireless internet access, and awesome views of the sunrise and sunset. We loved it here and would recommend it to anyone.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the nice review. The south-facing beach (and house full of oceanfront windows) really do allow the sun to bask in off the ocean from sunrise-to-sunset from October to early April. We like the neighborhood so much, we built a new house down the street and plan to retire there. Irv

  • 5 of 5

This was your second time staying at Irv and Nancy's beautiful beach house. We love coming to Holden Beach and this house. The ocean view is fabulous, with 2 ocean front decks plenty of room for our family . The house has all the comforts of home. Well stocked kitchen for dining in. Could ask for Any better. Thanks to the Wood family for this

Terrific property with a terrific owner

  • 5 of 5

My wife and children and parents came down to Hold-on-Beach for New Years. First, the owner Irv is absolutely fantastic. If there was a way he could make our trip better, even at his cost, he did it. He is absolutely amazing. We got there after dark and woke up to a beautiful sunrise over looking the ocean. This house is just a few yards from the beach. Sitting on the top deck having breakfast overlooking the water was amazing. It was a blessing to our whole family. It was a 5 Star experience and we would definitely go back; a perfect place for wonderful family times. God bless you Irv!

Owner's Response: Glad this family enjoyed their winter stay at one of our two homes. Since extra days were available, I gave them (free) an extra day on front-end and back-end of their paid stay. Try that with a "management company." VRBO and Homeaway renters who come to the websites expecting to deal directly with caring owners need to be careful, as there are loads of management company properties on these site. Always look for "owner" mananged. Thanks, Irv

FABULOUS FALL FOUR DAY GETAWAY!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I love Holden Beach and have taken our family there for years. They are all grown, but when we want to take a break, it's the beach we think of first. I have wanted to stay at Hold-on-Beach for years because of its ocean front situation and its seclusion on the East Beach end of the island. We were not disappointed in any way. The house had everything we needed to rest and enjoy our stay to the max. I called Mr. Woods once to make a special request in regards to the television viewing selection, and he acted immediately. He was very accommodating from the get-go. Since it was just the two of us and during October he gave us a rate we could live with. On another note, the weather was outrageously gorgeous for our entire stay. . .in fact, we had not packed enough items from our summer wardrobe. I would highly recommend this place for a couple's get-away (definitely more house than you would need) or for a small group or one or more families. Thank you, Mr. Woods, for making your home available to us!

Owner's Response: Great! This renter has been talking with me for at least 3 years, and finally schedules came together. I'm glad Hold-on-Beach seemed to be worth the wait. We will be glad to have her back at either Hold-on-Beach or Pelican Watch (private heated pool). Irv

Perfect and Peaceful!

  • 5 of 5

My group of ladies had a fantastic time during our stay. Everything was just as pictured and described and was very clean and in great shape. We had a spectacular sunrise looking to the Left from our deck and an equally beautiful sunset to the right, both over the water, of course, the view of the ocean and beach was unobstructed and perfect. I even watched one sunrise from my bed, without moving an inch (except to open the blinds). We cooked 1/2 our meals from the fully equipped kitchen. The location was peaceful and quite, no traffic noises or any noise during the night. You couldn't ask for a better retreat from everyday life. Oh yes, the elevator did come in handy, we didn't expect to use it but ended up loving it after two three mile beach walks and a 5K event!

Good customer service with a great view.

Hold-on-Beach was a perfect place for our stay. We enjoyed the view of the ocean and beach area as well as the location to other places on and off the island.
