2nd time and as perfect as the 1st
This was our 2nd time staying in Mr. Walker's house. There isn't anything negative I can tell you. Mr. Walker and his house were perfect and had everything we needed PLUS more. Very clean and comfortable. Short walk to the beach, store, and restaurants. Doesn't get any better than this. Can't wait for my 3rd stay!
Great guests! It's always a pleasure to see them again.
Wonderful little condo and a great location, loved our stay!
Quiet cute location; loved the outdoor balcony; easy walk to beach
Loved our stay; very peaceful and relaxing!
Good location, nice beach, Tybee Island is not pet friendly!
The penthouse is cute, comfortable for a single person. Needs a deep clean. There was a lot of dust under furniture. Washing machine was broken, replaced, and then used by cleaning service which left laundry overnight multiple nights. Inconvenient to say the least for the person renting the penthouse. I left a day early. Could use better quality towels and linens. Also, there was only one hand towel and one dish cloth. Since the washer was not available most of the two week stay that was not acceptable. Needs a toilet paper roll holder. I would not go back to Tybee Island because of pet policy on the beach and the pay for parking everywhere on the island.
We realized that tybee would definitely be better in the warmer weather! It was cold!
Could use better beds not all that comfortable great location, it was clean and great as they allowed pets!
Quaint little apartment
Penthouse is exactly as shown. Cute place. Lovely deck. Since this is an older home, noise did travel between the floors. We could hear our neighbors downstairs pretty clearly. Needs a toilet paper holder. We enjoyed our stay.
Two lighthouses reside on Tybee Island; less than 3 miles apart, but so radically different in character. As you approach Tybee Island, you see the impressive Tybee Light in the distance. Tall, dark, and handsome with a white cumberbund. He was honored a couple of years ago when he got his own US postage stamp. ( In lighthouse circles that is akin to an Oscar.) But then as you cross the Lazaretto bridge onto Tybee Island, you look down to the left and blink. Is that a lighthouse in the water? Indeed it is. That's plucky little Cockspur Lighthouse. Weathered, plain white masonry. Not flashy at all, except ... At every high tide Cockspur stands in the ocean well off-shore. Only at low tide does the stony spur appear that supports the little lighthouse. A firm foundation after all. So far the quaint shopping district near the pier has pretty much escaped the wrecking ball; it's still lost in the 40's/50's. Witness Arby's --- Tybee Island's only fast food restaurant. This is pretty much what Arby's looked like when they began in the early 60's. As for shopping, no Sak's here. We're talking beach shopping: T-shirts, souvenirs, Sno-Cones, umbrella drinks, seafood. But remember, for culture and serious shopping, there is colorful, historic Savannah, just 20 minutes away. Recommended reading: Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, an amusing look at Savannah's high- and low-life (about 2 years on the NY Times nonfiction best seller list).
