Tulsayab Villa Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedroom, 3 Bath, Sleeps up to 6 Adults and 4 Children

This stunning semi-secluded villa in quiet Tankah Beach near Soliman Bay. It has a dramatic and unique open air floor plan, with a center palapa roof, and a stunning rock wall in the living area that drops right into the stunning outdoor pool! There are three adjoining private lockable air conditioned bedroom suites, all similar and very well appointed. All suites have ocean/beach views, mini living areas, ceiling fans and , a safe.

The spacious, Caribbean facing, fully equipped kitchen has a microwave and all the other appliances a guest will need. The architecture is awe inspiring. This villa comes with 2 kayaks . Casa De Ensueno can now be rented as a luxury one bedroom beach front home (low season only), with exclusive use of the pool, beach front area, and living area

Casa De Ensueno Tankah Beach: Casa de Ensueno guests can feel connected to the world outside while enjoying the creature comforts of a resort like vacation rental beach villa. This is classic Riviera Maya! White sand beach, cool ocean breezes, and turquoise ocean against blue sky as far as you can see.

The main level of Casa Ensueno includes the open air circular living area with large built in sofa and raised kitchen and dining areas, and the pool starts in the living room! Each of Casa Ensuenos’ spacious air conditioned bedrooms are enclosed areas, constructed of conventional block and concrete, and have their own bathrooms and terrace. The bedroom suites are designed for privacy and security. Think of this house as an open air lobby with 3 private hotel room suites attached.

Living and Bedrooms: Also on the main level, with access from the central living area is a large master suite. This main level bedroom suite is very spacious and equipped with everything you might need for private and cozy couples retreat including private bath and private patio area. There are also two single futons which can easily be moved to other rooms as well.

On the second level are two large bedroom suites. All bedrooms are air conditioned and have private bath. Each of the three bedrooms have been designed to create self contained private retreats. The bedrooms are furnished with king beds, one single futon and enjoy beautiful views of the Caribbean and Tankah Bay.

This house is in need of some surface maintenance, so is not for everyone - there is peeling paint, chipped tiles, rusty metal, weathered palapas, stained concrete, and missing pool tiles etc. If you are open to turn a blind eye, you will find you can rent this private beach villa with a pool and staff, for the price of a condo! It is an incredible value for those who are not particular. This villa is all about location, location, location.....

About Lisa, Jill, or Toni

The owner's family built this house out of their family's passion to Mexico.

Lisa, Jill, or Toni purchased this villa in 1989

Why Lisa, Jill, or Toni chose Tulum

As one of the first owners to choose a lot on this bay, they have one of the best locations for the beach, bay, airflow and views!

What makes this villa unique

The open air concept of the living area is dramatic, especially with the 2 story palapa roof - all designed by a local architect. There is nothing like it!

Guestbook comments from the manager

Thank you all so much for assisting my party of 6 with one of the most wonderful vacations we have taken in a long time. The house was beautiful and it was everything we imagined it would be. The caretakers were very helpful and considerate of our privacy, we appreciated their daily assistance very much. Tankah bay provided excellent beach combing, snorkeling, swimming, kayaking - and some very beautiful sunrises. We were never bored:-)

We will definitely be returning for another wonderful stay at Casa de Ensueno.

Best experience, best price, best location!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from casa de Ensueno after spending a perfect week there. Never having been on a trip like this, we had specific requirements. We didn't want to be in a condo or resort, no neighbors right on top of us, away from the "touristy" scene (yet close enough to attractions and activities), and wanted to cook our own meals. Taxi service is readily available at all times but we rented a car. We chose mid-June to travel and we had the best weather. Where do I start...the privacy, the location (central to so many necessities and activities), the hospitality shown by Armando and Mariela, who take great care and pride in their work on the house and property, and the absolutely breathtaking view that is seen first thing in the morning and the private beach that is right outside your living room!!! This was our family's first trip to Mexico, we were excited and nervous. Our expectations were absolutely exceeded and we WILL be back again! Any place where I can take a break during breakfast prep for my family, take a dip in the pool to cool off, with the beautiful turquoise ocean as the backdrop, is truly a dream to me! With all of that being said, I must add that the cosmetic stuff is all honestly disclosed by the owners and managers, and the description fair. And none of it changed how wonderful it was. Honestly, the feel ended up being slightly rustic. But even that is pushing it, as all the amenities you would need are available, if maybe a little weathered. However, the pics on the site are out of date and this matters nothing to me, but may be a point of contention for other guests. Along with outdated pics, some info about amenities are in need of updating, as well. Just to make things easier for anyone who might not be sure of what isn't updated on the site, I will list them:

Master suite tub is out of commission

No TV's

Only one kitchenette available in upstairs rooms (the site lists both available)

Very fickle wifi

And I will say again, NONE of this had an impact on the enjoyment we experienced, because this place is amazing. Just think it should be available info to others.

Caribbean Fantasy, the company handling the property booking, is excellent and extremely informative. Loved every interaction with all the people I spoke with. This was truly a dream vacation for our family and we are coming back next year, without a doubt!

Owner's Response: What a fabulous review - thank you! We agree, this villa is all about location, location, location! We try hard to make sure the guests can turn a blind eye to the secondary things with upkeep needed (peeping paint, missing or chipped tiles, old palapas, no frills like TV etc). Almost 100% of our guests love their stay and plan on returning! And, the new manager is making great headway on taking care of things which need it! We always get wonderful comments on Armando and Mariela - so thank you too for those. They make the house a home. We'll take a look at the photos on the site and the amenities - It has probably been years since we've reviewed them. We'll also look into the 2nd kitchenette - was not aware it was not operable - most people never use them, so that is likely why. Hurry back - if you book your return trip before July 1, you will save on the new tax which will we will have to start charging then.... We can't thank you enough for the helpful review! Lisa and staff at Caribbean Fantasy, Inc.

Awesome!

All the positive reviews you read about Casa de Ensueno are true! I honestly have to say I had a bit of trepidation renting a house in Mexico sight unseen, especially having never been there before. However, it ended up being a tremendous vacation. The location, the pool, the service, it was all top notch. As people have said, don't expect the spit-shine finish of a resort, but after driving around Cancun for a couple hours we realized that was definitely not what we wanted. The caretakers took care of every need, cleaning every day and obviously taking pride in their work. They cooked an amazing home cooked meal for us as well, which I highly recommend as others have.

The location of the house couldn't have been better. A 2 minute walk to the cenote and two restaurants, 10 minutes from the Tulum ruins, 20 minutes from Akumal (don't miss the turtles), and a couple hours from Chichen Itza. The road to the house was gated (roped off) 24-7 to prevent any issues.

The bay was amazing to hang out in as well. Definitely head up along the shore toward the break and go snorkeling and you'll see amazing corals and fish - the kids loved it. The bay is very protected and great to kayak in as well (kayak provided).

All in all Casa de Ensueno delivered more than as promised and resulted in a fabulous vacation for us, our two kids and the grandparents. We'll be back!

*LOVED* it

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in August 2014 at Casa de Ensueno. My husband and I had our own private 'wing', my mother had her wing, and my sister and nephew had theirs. It was perfect to have our private, personal areas - like mini-apartments - and then the gorgeous common pool, living, and kitchen area. We spent most days swimming, snorkeling, walking the beach, and most nights drinking pitchers of margaritas, playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles, etc. around the kitchen.

The pool and private beach were A-MAZ-ING. We took many walks on the beach and probably only saw 1-2 people the whole time. Loved that. One tip: bring water shoes. Tankah Bay is gorgeous, full of coral reef and plenty to snorkel and see, but difficult to just 'walk into'. We were in it constantly and had no problems because of our handy water shoes.

The internet at Casa Ensueno is pretty much non-existent - it worked about 10% of the stay - only affected me a little bit because I'm big on 'TV to fall asleep' and had brought my Roku but could only get it working one night. Beyond that, I didn't care about the internet - I was there to relax and soak up the sun, sea life, food, and drinks.

The groundskeepers were wonderful. I made Armando taste my guacamole and he gave me an honest review - loved that :) He also cleaned all of the conch that we brought back from the sea, and brought us extra snorkeling gear for my mom, sister, and nephew.

You do need a car. We initially didn't rent one - we took buses and colectivos at first. It took all of 12 hours to decide we needed a car. Rent a car!!!

Overall I can tell you I felt like a thief the whole time - that's the best way I know to describe it. I thought that at any moment I was going to get 'caught' living in paradise and not having paid what I should for it. When the house description says that you get a bargain price if you can handle a little disrepair, it's the truth. To top that off, I communicated with the ladies at Caribbean Fantasy extensively prior to renting to understand exactly what 'disrepair' entailed, and a) they were quick and thorough in all communications with me, and b) were 100% honest. Also, any concern about children and the open pool - if you have toddlers who can't swim, that's one thing, but we had an 11 year old who was on cloud 9 with that pool. No worries.

If you're a 'resort and golf' type of person, this is not for you. Otherwise, do not miss out on this rental - you will NOT regret staying here.

A fantastic beach bargain near Tulum

  • 4 of 5

Despite the flaws in the building (we visited in May '14), which are accurately described in the text and photos, we had a terrific time. The site is fantastic, the privacy is unrivaled, and the housekeepers are a dream. We enjoyed the house and grounds. The pool was fine and refreshing on a daily basis. The seaside was a delight for sunning and reading in the shade.

We also loved the quiet remoteness of the house, and its walking proximity to the wonderful eating at Blue Sky Boutique and restaurant, and to Casa Cenote.

We ate lunches in the house, and breakfasts and dinners at Blue Sky or in Tulum.

A car is necessary for your stay. Be aware that in an open living area like this, the sand crabs, iguanas and possibly the scorpions will come in at night. But they are gone by morning and no problem during the day. It's beach life near a jungle. Plan accordingly. There was a constant sea breeze that was delightful, and the master suite provided all the comforts we expected.

There is NO TV. And the wifi is nearly non-existent. If those are important to you, and not the secluded privacy and miles of beach - then look elsewhere.

Given the flaws, and the bargain price -- we could not have been happier. Period.

It's not the right place for young kids, or the elderly. If you're flexible and mobile and looking for a great place to veg out at the beach, perhaps while sightseeing - you can't go wrong

Owner's Response: A perfect review! Thank you. We are glad to say no scorpions so far, and Mariella sweeps up in the early morning as well as mid day. Beleive it or not, we actually have many families with small children (probably because it is so affordable), so we always warn them of the open pool and separated bedrooms. The coral around the pool deters small kids, and normally they sleep in their parents suites. The elderly tend to use the master bedroom on the main floor if they can't master the stairs, so don't have any issues there. They can also walk around the villa instead of use the entry staircase. There have been many updates since your visit, but there are still many to to, so we keep the rate low to compensate for this. It really is all about location, location, location, and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay so much. Thank you for the helpful review, and we look forward to having you return to stay with us once again - the area is addicting!
