THIS IS A VERY NICE PLACE

  • 5 of 5

This rental was súper clean, the owners are gracious and friendly, the grounds are perfect for visiting dogs, and the location, although not ON the beach is within a 15 minute drive of many beaches - Van Buren State Park, Deer Lick Creek Park(which is dog friendly), South and North Beaches in South Haven, and two others near the cottage. We had a lovely time here. Thanks Ed and Bridget.

Great place to stay- Wonderful Girls'-only Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was one of the best vacations I've had in a long time! This rental is an apartment which is connected to the owner's vacation home. It has a charming quality- we felt right at home from our arrival! Ed was so nice- he met us at the end of the drive when arrived, welcomed us, and showed us all around- a very nice gentleman- you'll enjoy visiting with him! This apartment was spotlessly clean! We each had our own large bedroom- both with plenty of closet/drawer space. The beds were very comfortable, and were made up with very nice high-quality sheets. Bathroom was nice and clean- also with plenty of room to unpack all our stuff and make ourselves at home for the week. The kitchen was amazingly well equipped- everything we needed! We did come back early and cooked here for 2 suppers- there is a nice deck with a Weber grill that we were welcome to use. Grilled a couple of steaks to go with all of the yummy things we bought at the Farmer's Market. Living room was very comfy- we spent a couple of nights just vegging out and relaxing to TV and movies. Air conditioning was optional- of course we opted to use it!- temp was preset but we were very comfortable all week. We asked Ed for recommendations on places to eat and things to see- he gave us some great choices.

We had so much fun exploring South Haven- there are so many nice shops, antique stores etc. We visited the Maritime Museum, lighthouse, Van Buren State Park and beach. Several very nice beaches in the area. We also spent a day at Holland, and another day at St. Joseph- both a very short drive away. The South Haven Farmer's Market was so neat. If you go to South Haven, you must eat at Captain Lou's and also at Clementines- both were wonderful. And don't miss the ice cream at Sherman's Dairy Bar! Cousin's Restaurant was also very good- had a really good breakfast there- and it is really close to the house.

I am definitely hoping to come back and stay here again- it was just so relaxing and enjoyable- and so clean and affordable. Thank you for a great vacation- my friend and I had a wonderful time!

Nice vacation rental

  • 5 of 5

The place is nice, very clean, about 15 min walk to the beach where dogs are allowed. The owners are very nice people, they really care about their guests ( visit to Sherman's ice cream store, box of cholcolate, veggies from their garden). We had a great time at the cottage!

Wonderful Location

  • 5 of 5

We spent our first time to South Haven at this cozy little cottage and it was just perfect for our family. Ed and Bridgette were there to greet us and give us the run down. As my husband and I unpacked, Ed took our kids on the golf cart to go get some ice cream (it's vacation! Ice cream before dinner is a must). The property was AMAZING for our 3 dogs who were happy to have space to run and roam freely. It is not fenced, but fortunately our dogs don't go far from us. Beach access is literally a 3 minute drive but does have A LOT of stairs to go down and no public restrooms. It wasn't totally ideal for a family of 4 with two toddlers and a bunch of stuff. The public beach, North Beach ($9 parking), was only a 7 minute drive and was big, clean and beautiful. We also spent a day in St. Joseph which was only a 25 minute drive at most. South Haven is a lovely little beach town that we look forward to visiting again. Ed and Bridgette offered wonderful, very clean, accommodations and we will definitely book with them again in the future! We still need to do the pick-your-own berries, ATV park, jet ski rental, fishing, Van Buren State Park...

Perfect Place

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in June with our 3 children and our babysitter. Our stay was nothing less than perfect. This setting is secluded and in a huge open lot. We drove to Wal-Mart (a mere 5 minutes) and bought soccer balls for our kiddos. Our doggie came along and it was perfect for her as well. The property is sooooo clean. That alone is enough reason for us to always return! 2 nice sized bedrooms, a very clean bathroom, a living room with a sleeper bed and a kitchen rounded it out. We spent nearly the entire trip sitting out on the deck and enjoying the weather, drinking tea and watching our children and dog play in the yard. Ed and Bridget also were the most gracious hosts. They had to head home the morning after our arrival, and we were sad to see them go! They were amazing with our children. On a side note, the property does not include a washer/dryer, but they do however, have a super long clothesline which worked wonderfully for all of our beach towels. We plan to return EVERY year to this property! Also, we had plenty of space for a pack-n-play in our bedroom and a twin blow up bed in the spare room. I cannot emphasize enough how perfect this vacation home is. Location, cleanliness, options, and owners are tops. I am a travel agent and would recommend this property to any family that isn't needing the top notch amenities such as a pool, beach front, golf course, etc... It's a few minutes drive down to the beach where we also spent hours each day. Quaint, clean, and secluded.
