Look and listen to the sounds of Hawaii's majestic surf as it rolls in right beneath the windows of this cozy ocean bluff condo. Kai Nani at Sealodge is the perfect spot for a honeymoon or a romantic island getaway.
Kai Nani means 'beautiful ocean' in Hawaiian. True to its name, our Sealodge condominium (Unit #G-2) offers some of the most spectacular ocean views in Princeville. Perched dramatically on cliffs overlooking the waters of the blue Pacific, Sealodge is a small low-rise complex, its wind swept cedar siding in perfect harmony with the ocean environment surrounding it. Kai Nani is a one-bedroom one-bath first floor unit which faces east/northeast and looks directly down the coastline to Anini Beach and the Kilauea Lighthouse. There is an unobstructed ocean view from every room in the condo, and the gentle sound of the surf permeates the air. The covered deck that juts out toward the cliff from the living room is a perfect spot to sit and watch the waves and the often visible marine life. Dolphins can sometimes be seen frolicking in the water, and, in the winter months and early spring, humpback whales join in the display. The unit is conveniently equipped for vacationing comfort; you will find a list of its many features and amenities below. There is a swimming pool and a barbecue area for the use of guests on the property, as well as a private unpaved path to the secluded beach below the cliffs.
Kai Nani offers the following amenities: cordless telephone, color TV, VCR, tape deck, CD/DVD player. The full size kitchen contains: electric range/oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, disposal, coffee maker, toaster, blender, and a large array of kitchen equipment. We provide numerous extras, such as beach chairs, cooler, beach umbrella, binoculars, books and magazines, etc., and we now offer FREE High Speed Internet (DSL) and FREE UNLIMITED LONG DISTANCE CALLS, with Caller ID, 3 way calling, and *69. The unit is about 50 feet from the coin operated laundry located in F building. There is a very comfortable king-sized bed in the bedroom, and a double size futon availabe for guests who do not wish to share the bed.
Nakea Kauai Vacation rentals offers three properties for rent, a one bedroom ocean bluff condo at Sealodge in Princeville (Kai Nani), a three bedroom beachfront home (Hale Kai) and a one bedroom beachfront cottage (Punana Aloha). The latter two are both located at the secluded end of incredible Anini Beach. All three properties are owned and lovingly cared for by Bob Nakea and his wife, Dotty. Bob is a native Hawaiian whose family's roots on Kauai go back to the 1800's, and Dotty is a mainland transplant who has been in the islands for over 48 years. No attention to detail on the properties is overlooked, and each home is furnished with the comfort of its guests foremost in mind.
** In 2009, Dotty passed on, but Bob and their daughter Suzi, who was also born and raised in the islands, continue to care for these properties and their valued guests.

We love staying in this condo! We think that this was our sixth stay, and we've always been delighted to come back. The views from both bedroom and living room are spectacular, the kitchen is well-furnished, and the condo is extremely comfortable. It's a wonderful place to stay in a stunning area!
We loved this condo! Each day at sunrise we would fling open the curtains and admire the gorgeous view and watch the sun come up. Eventually we'd have a leisurely breakfast on the deck, visited by nenes most days. After packing our days with island adventures, we'd love to return and watch the light changing into the evening. The kitchen - and the condo overall - was well equipped and the place was very comfortable. Only regret - that we had to go home!
Excellent views, cozy feeling . a great place to meditate and use as home-base for adventures. I loved waking up to look out a large window at the sun rise over the ocean...and then watch the sunset from around corner. The owners take great care of their rentals.
We had a delightful time at this Princeville condo. The condo meets all your needs simply and comfortably. Breakfasts on the lanai, meditation outside on the bluff, and the sound of wind and surf 24/7 with constantly changing skyscapes of clouds and sun. The trade winds take the edge off any heat and humidity. Recommendations include the 8-mile round-trip hike to Hanakapiai Falls (although make sure your legs and feet are feeling up to it and it's a dry day!), the Saturday morning farmers market in Kilauea (we would have bought all our food here if we hadn't already done some shopping at the grocery store; as it was, we bought local salsa, taro hummus, fresh local fruits and veggies, turmeric coconut juice, and bread made from locally ground flour), the Kilauea lighthouse and National Wildlife Refuge (check out a pair of loaner binoculars in the building next to the lighthouse and look for the book Holy Moli by Hob Osterlund in the bookstore for a great journey with the albatross). Snorkeling at the local beach was as good as any we did, and the privacy and quiet there was great. The condo's beach chairs and recently donated beach umbrella were nice to have available. Princeville Center can be reached with a longish but relaxing walk. A car is pretty much required for easy access to surrounding areas and beaches--many options available. Thanks for the hospitality!
Don't doubt the reviews that say this condo has one of the best views you could hope to enjoy on the island--they are all true! We woke each morning to the ocean waves beneath us, and usually a few nenes and roosters bobbing around the yard, to boot. You'll find the kitchen well stocked, including a cupboard full of goodies that the owners and previous guests have left that might come in handy--olive oil, spices, etc. There is also a lovely lending library, and the best guidebook you could hope to use, The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook. The owners have also been kind enough to provide coolers, beach chairs, and other goods to help you enjoy your stay to the fullest.
We completely enjoyed our stay, and would not hesitate to return. However, there were a few details that could have been improved. Specifically, we would have enjoyed being able to pay via credit card. Also, the linens were lower in quality than expected. The condo itself is a bit dated, but well kept and certainly more than sufficient. But the towels and bedspread were more like you'd expect to find in a cheap motel. Some paper towels and toilet tissue are provided, but you're instructed to be prepared to provide your own beyond these starters. A few updates to the space, including some lush towels and a back stock of toilet tissue, would go a long way towards a more luxurious feeling.
That being said, you can't beat the value at this condo. A great little private beach (that you'll have to do a little work to access--which we loved!), a well stocked kitchen, and a comfy set up for a very competitive price, combined with that stellar view--it really is a great place to stay. It's also in a great location with easy access to the entire north side of the island. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or to return ourselves.
We have stayed in this condo several times and love it every time. Not fancy but so comfortable and the best views on Kauai. You can even lie in bed ,listen to the waves and see the lighthouse. Nice to have beach chairs to borrow and the laundry is close by.
