About the property

Villa Cumbres is a large detached villa located on a private urbanisation that is equal distance from Gandia and Barx in the Valencia region. It is on a hill so enjoys stunning views across orange groves and surrounding mountains. It is perfect for a family holiday where you can do as much or little as you choose. The two story villa is arranged as two separate apartments each with their own entrances. It has five bedrooms and sleeps up to 10 (sleeping four upstairs and six in the lower floor apartment). There is a bathroom on each floor. All rooms have standing or ceiling fans and there is one portable A/C unit provided. The upper floor has a large open plan lounge and dining area and a Naya (covered patio) with amazing elevated views. There is TV with Freesat (UK programmes) plus Spanish TV and a DVD player plus a selection of DVDs, games and books. The fully equipped kitchen has cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. There are two double bedrooms with ample wardrobe and storage space. The lower apartment has three bedrooms (one double, two twin) also with ample storage. It has an open lounge and kitchenette that is fully equipped with oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and TV. In the utility area is a second washing machine and drinks fridge and a large selection of beach toys, pool equipment (loungers, umbrellas, padded seat cushions, noodles for the pool etc.) beach towels, beach chairs and a table football game. All towels and bedding are provided. There is a lower patio with table and chairs and umbrella that can seat up to eight people situated next to an open BBQ. The villa has use of a large private use of pool and patio. The tiered gardens have a selection of fruit trees that produce lemons, oranges and figs in season. There is a large drive providing private and secure parking for up to three cars. The villa is situated in a quiet hillside area, enjoying stunning mountain views and a vista across wide valleys of orange groves. A car is essential. It is only 10 minutes drive from the historic and bustling town of Gandia with its 8km of Blue Flag fine sandy beaches and promenades and wide array of shops and restaurants. The nearest supermarket is approximately eight minutes drive away. The mountain town of Barx is 10 minutes drive up the mountain and it has a number of local restaurants serving value for money dishes (e.g. Menu Del Dia for about eight euros), pizzas and tapas plus local shops including butchers, bakers and mini-supermarkets. The prestigious Oliva Nova PGA 18-hole Golf Course designed by Seve Ballesteros is a 15 minutes drive away. The surrounding area is very popular with cyclists, climbers and walkers.

The lovely city of Valencia is a 50 minute train journey away (you can drive but the train is easier and cheaper) and one hour south is Benidorm that offers a dazzling array of bars and entertainment plus major theme parks of Terra Mitica, El Vergel Safari Park and a water park. Cullera water park is about 45 minutes drive north.
