|Minimum Stay||2 - 4 nights|
Are you looking for a mountain getaway that offers peace and tranquility, but is still close to all the action in the Smokies? Come stay a while at the Little Cove Cabin and find what you've been looking for!
Tucked away in a little cove in the woods, you can relax on the large front porch and watch the abundant wildlife around you or swing in the hammock in the front yard while listening to the babbling brook near by. Wild turkeys, raccoons, rabbits, foxes, coyotes, and even an occasional catamount and black bear have all been seen here!
Hike through the acres of woods that surround the cabin, or fish for rainbow and speckled trout in the bold creek just down the road. In the evenings, you can roast marshmallows at the fire pit where you can sometimes hear an old Barred Owl hooting in the trees nearby. Take a long stroll up the East Fork creek where 100+ year old farm houses, grazing horses and cattle, and rustic old barns and silos whisper the stories from a bye gone era.
Newly renovated, this romantic little A-Frame log cabin has all the modern comforts of home while maintaining the rustic nostalgia of a cozy little cabin in the woods! The cabin has a queen-sized bed in the downstairs bedroom and a second queen-sized bed in the loft bedroom. There is also a sleeper sofa in the living area that helps to accommodate up to 6 people. A fully equipped kitchen and separate laundry room have everything you will need for your stay. The cabin also has wireless internet access throughout and a flat screen HDTV with Directv programming. Outside, there is a Weber gas grill, dining and picnic tables and plenty of seating for enjoying meals outside. Also, our newly installed 6 person hot tub is perfect for a relaxing soak after a long day of fun in the mountains.
Conveniently located only 10 minutes from the charming town of historic Dillsboro and 15 minutes from Sylva, Franklin, and Western Carolina University. The towns of Cherokee and Waynesville are just a 30 minute or less drive away.
If your looking for a cozy place to relax, decompress, and get back to nature, you will find everything you're looking for in the Little Cove!
My husband and I live and work in Sylva and are busy parents to our 4 small children. My husband works for the phone company and I am a potter that enjoys playing in the mud all day. We feel very blessed to be able to live and raise our children in these beautiful mountains.
Kimberly Gray purchased this cabin in 2007
This property has been in my family for over 150 years. Growing up in Maryland, I have many fond childhood memories of my family's regular visits to the mountains and staying in the Little Cove. Playing in the woods and catching crawdads in the creek with my brother were some of my favorite things to do.
Originally built in the 1970's, the aging Little Cove cabin was in need of some TLC. As a result, my husband and I began a 2 year 'rebuild'. The result was a brand new home with the nostalgic charm of an old mountain A-Frame cabin. We are proud of the hard-work and love we've poured into this cabin and hope that many families will now make special memories of their own in the Little Cove.
Very cozy and relaxing cabin. The perfect vacation spot in the mountains! Great job!
The property is immaculate. It's cozy, comfortable and has everything you need. This was a magical getaway for my husband and I. Exactly what we needed to get refreshed and recharged for our busy lives. It's so quiet and beautiful in those mountains and the town of Sylva itself is charming. Hiking, fishing, hunting, wine tasting all close by. Although you may just want to rest and relax in the hot tub and around the house! Kim even left us a smores kit to make in the oven because we were on a fire ban at the time. We can't wait to get back to that amazing cabin!
This place has everything we always look for in a cabin. Clean, dog friendly cabin with a hot tub, fire place (gas at this location), a fire pit, seclusion and tranquility. The first morning, I noticed the rippling of the nearby creek and was really looking forward to spending my mornings outside in the quiet. I would have liked to have given this cabin 5 stars, but the seclusion and tranquility aspects were ruined by the next door neighbors cutting down numerous trees for a new cabin site over a period of 4 of the 6 days we stayed; working from 9:00 am until after 6:00 pm. Kim did text us the day before to advise that her neighbor had contacted her informing that they would be cutting for a couple of days. At that time, Kim did offer to add a free night to our stay for the inconvenience, which we thankfully accepted since we all thought the cutting would only be for a couple days. However, the cutting continued longer than expected so we did not feel that the extra day would be to our benefit. Clearly this situation was out of Kim and Josh's control. When we advised that we were not staying the extra day, they offered to give us a discount or a free night's stay if we decided to go back at another time. They are very responsive either by e-mail, telephone or texting and were accommodating in difficult situation. If you do go, this place really has a lot to offer. The location is near some great hiking/mountain biking trails, which we took full advantage of while in Sylva. Also, if you like massages or other therapies, try Fusion Spa & Wellness (fusionsspa.com) on Main Street in Sylva. Great staff and not your average spa. If you are into authentic fresh Mexican food, try Sazon Mexican Cuisine (sazoncullowhee.com) on Old Cullowhee Road, in Sylva. Delicious! Great service! Overall a great vacation!
I had a high school friend visit me for a long weekend and I found this place near where I live. It is a great little place, quiet and completely stocked for all your needs. The deck was a great place to hang out day and night. It's close to everything and don't let the reviews scare you about the road, it is fine and any vehicle is capable of getting you there!
The wife and I had an amazing weekend stay at Little Cove Cabin. The entire cabin is newly renovated and immaculate. Location is tucked away and completely surrounded by mature trees. We used the weekend to go over to Stepp's Hillcrest Orchard. A number of other notes in the guest book mentioned Clingmans Dome. Overall a great weekend with no issues or concerns with the cabin. We'd recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet escape.
We selected the cabin while looking for a cool location to give us a little relief from the Georgia heat and humidity. We had a little rain during the first two days, but the temperature was wonderful. After the first two days, we took full advantage of the outside grill and fire pit. The cabin was better than expected, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a small cabin in the mountains of North Carolina. You would have a hard time finding a spot more convenient to areas such as Asheville, Cherokee, Waynesville, Gatlinburg, and Maggie Valley.
We loved our stay here. Very pretty little cabin in a great location. Road was a bit tricky to get up, but the cabin and secluded location made it worth it. We look forward to staying here again.
