About Steven Mansfield

I am originally from Massachusetts and moved to California 25 years ago. I am a local dentist (Prosthodontist) and have an office in the city of Napa. Most weekends I can be found either skiing, motorcycling, or playing golf or tennis. My east coast roots shine brightly as I am a 'die-hard' ice hockey enthusiast.

Steven Mansfield purchased this house in 1995

Why Steven Mansfield chose Sonoma County

My professional life as a dentist brought me to the Sonoma/Napa Valleys 20 years ago. I was fortunate to have purchased this idyllic location in 1995 and raise my two daughters here until it was time for them to attend high school in Marin County. It made sense to move closer to their schools and 5 years ago we made the move to San Rafael in Marin County.

What makes this house unique

My Sonoma home remains very much the same as it was when we lived there and thus you should experience a very 'lived in, homey' feeling while relaxing in our home.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Such a wonderful place to call home for a few days as we celebrated my sisters 50th birthday. Thank you! amazing home! I was sold when I saw that oak in the backyard!

Great space and grounds

  • 4 of 5

Overall, it's a great size and the grounds are nice. The hot tub is awesome! Also a very convenient location.

The loft bed is extremely hard and uncomfortable, and the whole area was very dusty. I wouldn't plan for people to sleep there.

Towels and hand towels provided. A fairly well stocked kitchen for utensils and plates.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your feedback Chelsea! The double size bed in the loft has a single futon mattress which probably accounts for the bed feeling hard. I will be sure to address the dust in this loft space. I'm glad your group had a good time and thanks again for staying at my home.

Excellent & charming place for a large group. Quiet neighborhood.

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house in conjunction with a wedding event nearby. The place is very clean and spacious and worked really well for our group of 9, including 2 dogs (pet friendly). We cooked several times there and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need to prepare meals. It's a very private estate so it was very quiet & peaceful the entire stay. The location was extremely convenient to Sonoma square, groceries, cafes etc. The owner was extremely easy to work with in answering all of my questions. He responded very efficiently and was always kind & courteous. I highly recommend staying there and if we are ever in town again we would surely stay again.

Perfect for large group!

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect rental for our girls weekend. There was plenty of space for the 12 of us, and even though there were only 2 bathrooms, one of them was rather large so multiple people were able to get ready at once. The property was private and absolutely beautiful, and the spacious backyard provided a number of places for us all to hang out. We loved that the speakers were wired for inside and outside - a major plus for our group! The location was also great - close to town, so quick grocery store trips were easy to make if needed. Thanks again for everything!

Relaxing and Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for a bachelorette party of 13 girls and it was beautiful. The pictures should be updated because they do not do it justice. The property is amazing and fit all of us very nicely. We enjoyed everything from the pool to the hot tub, and the fact that it was close to town so we could go run errands when needed. This was a wonderful place to stay, I would definitely rent it again!

Fun Area

  • 4 of 5

Sonoma is a wonderful area! We had a family reunion/50th birthday at this house. There were 10 of us who all slept very comfortably. The house seemed a bit over priced due to not being as nice as we had hoped. The dining room table seated all 10 of us, which was great. The hot tub is very nice, but the pool is very cold. The TV room was small and this seemed to be where everyone wanted to congregate. There just wasn't enough room even with the kitchen counter to sit at. The loft is darling and very suitable for a teenager. There were no hair dryers which was an inconvenience, especially since we all flew in. Only having 2 bathrooms was a bit of a challenge for 10 of us, but it worked. The house is close to town and other attractions, but gave us that country feel we were looking for. We felt like if a few things were updated it would be perfect!

A relaxing getaway home

  • 5 of 5

We rented with property with a group of friends. We decided to do this instead of renting hotel rooms so we could really enjoy spending time together, and not rely on others to cook for us as we all enjoy cooking. The home had everything we needed. It was clean and comfortable. It had all the amenities of a hotel, including a pool and hot tub, except it was all ours! The owner was very helpful in making sure we were comfortable. If you want your own mini resort for a quiet getaway, and a great place to relax with friends or family, this is the place!
