Why Jerry Kasunic chose Lubec
This property offers the best of both worlds: being on the bold coast for hiking, birding, and solitude, as well as being close to fishing villages and towns (Lubec, Cutler, Eastport, Campobello, or Machias) for musical events, art and trade shows.
What makes this House unique
The simple beauty of the Bay of Fundy and the nature tied to the land (Bold Coast) is well worth a trip to our home.

The house is wonderfully situated on a very rugged part of the Maine coast within a short drive from the best hiking in the area. There is real solitude and peace. The house is well equipped and appointed—especially the kitchen—and was ideal for us because we love to cook.
Jerry was extremely helpful and communication with him was a pleasure.
Thank you so much for your feedback and we are so glad you had a wonderful experience while staying in our Down East / Bold Coast Maine home. We hope your review of our property will help others choose to stay with us and enjoy the Bold Coast experience of Maine (including the kitchen!). We look forward to your return and know it was a pleasure serving you. Take care, and thank you again, Jerry and Debbie.
Very comfortable cottage, beautiful view of ocean and convenient base to the many summer activities in the Lubec/Eastport area.
We loved this house. It was perfect for my kids—19, 17 and 11 and my dog. They spent most days wandering down a grass pathway and a short scramble down rocks to discover the hidden cove and the sunken sailboat visible during low tide. At night they loved sleeping up in the loft either putting together a puzzle or watching movies. We all loved watching the changing tides and reading by the great window. This house was clean and very well supplied with brisk white sheets and towels and a kitchen full of new dish wear. Make sure to bring bug repellent as much of maine at this time of year has lots of mosquitoes.
Five years in a row and planning for next year. What more can I say!
Thank you for your great review, hoping to see you next year! Happy Holidays to you and your family and stay in touch.
Take care, Jerry and Debbie.
Bold Coast Hideaway
My boys and I were awed by this property!
Being on the look-out for our own little piece of Down East, we have seen quite a few properties in our visits. This is certainly one of those that has the "wow" effect.
Completely hidden away on a dirt track off a minor road, this property still provides all the mod-cons for a worry-free vacation.
The house in general, and especially the kitchen, are well stocked with appliances and a large refrigerator. There is satellite TV if required (we never turned it on once), and high speed internet if you just cannot bear being out of touch.
Each morning we looked out to judge the tides from the large panoramic windows, and at dusk we watched the dragonflies putting on a dance.
As has been stated before, the house is set back from the water, but water access is possible if you are (slightly) athletic. We spent a lot of time skipping stones, taking photos, watching the fishing boats going in and out, throwing in a line, and my eldest even went for a short swim!
We walked the lane and explored the beach at the end. No-one bothered us.
We primarily used the house as a base for day trips to Lubec, Machias and Eastport, for hiking the various Bold Coast trails (try the Boot Cove Trail to find a hidden beach), and to pursue our various hobbies.
In summary, if you are looking for somewhere that puts you in the wild without sleeping in a tent, this is the place to be.
Finally a big thank you to Jerry for responding so quickly and to his handyman Dennis who came to "unclog" us on the first day and showed us his garden and goat when we departed.

Clean, fully equipped & comfortable housing in a setting that will make you wish you did not have to
The property is exactly as advertised. The living spaces are clean & comfortable. There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas if one likes to hike, bird watch and get out on the water. Deb & Jerry are helpful, courteous & welcoming in their approach to maintaining their home for others to use. The addition of WiFi service this year was appreciated by those who were not quite able to disconnect completely from work. Being able to manage loose ends remotely Made it easier to relax otherwise. A great stay! We hope to return next year. David & Georgia
Hi David and Georgia:

Take care and we look forward to your return.
Happy Labor Day to you and your family,
Jerry and Deb.
