About Robbie Bell
My name is Robbie Bell and my mother's name is Helen Richey. We own this home together. I work in real estate. Helen lives in Atlanta and is retired from sales. Helen handles most of the reservations and I maintain and oversee the property on a regular basis. This picture was taken while visiting Las Vegas. I love to travel. After having the opportunity to travel to many different cities, I still believe that Savannah is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The history, architecture, and local culture of Savannah are all unique. What better way to experience the architecture and history of Savannah than staying in a beautiful historic home? I really can't think of any.
Robbie Bell purchased this House in 2007
Why Robbie Bell chose Historic District - North
I already owned a home in this block and this home became available. Mom wanted to have a home that she and her husband could stay in when she visited Savannah. This seemed to be a good fit for our family.

Great location and amazing house!
We stayed here on a girl’s trip, and LOVED it!! It is in the perfect area that is walkable to so many great places in the city, including the City Market where there are great bars and restaurants! While close by to these locations, it is still on a quiet, quaint street. Additionally, the house itself was perfect for 7 people and was so beautiful. The amenities were great and there was plenty of space, the outback courtyard was also a perfect place to hang out and eat lunch. Helen was very accommodating and checked in upon our arrival, making us feel all the more welcome. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!!!
Great Family Spring Break place
We really enjoyed our time at this location this week. The house is well maintained, and had everything we needed! The location was ideal, as we were able to get around easily - we walked everywhere (with 4 kids from 6-11). The owners were very responsive when we had to reach out about the wireless (plug had come loose). Savannah was a great place to go with this crew - kids enjoyed the history and sites as well as some kid focused areas like Leopold’s ice cream, the arcade further down Broughton and the Jepson Art Center. It was nice and quiet at night for restful evenings. Thank you so much!!
Great house, walking distance to everything! Host was easy to reach and always helpful!
Fabulous in every way!!
I rented this beautiful historic home for guests visiting Savannah for the weekend. The location was wonderful, walking distance to everywhere we went! The elegant home was beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable! The owners provided excellent directions and city suggestions. We will use the home for visiting guests in the future!
Great house for a family vacation
The Mary O’Connor House was the perfect place for us (five adults) for the week that we were vacationing in Savannah. With 2-1/2 bathrooms it was easy for all of us to get ready in the mornings. The house is nicely furnished and well kept. The kitchen had everything you would need for cooking; plenty of dishes and utensils for preparation, a microwave, toaster, a regular coffee machine and even a Keurig machine. There are spices, aluminum foil, and other staples that you might need in a kitchen. Also supplied was dish washer pods, bar soap and shampoo. The house has multiple fireplaces, but we did notice that they are non-functional.
We loved the house, and it is the little touches that make this feel like a home – games, books, and videos in the living room, Kleenex boxes within easy reach, etc.
Helen, the owner, called the day after we checked in to make sure we found everything and if there was anything that she could do for us. We would definitely recommend staying at the Mary O’Connor House next time you are in Savannah.
Lovely, well appointed home
What a lovely home! It is set up as I would my own home. The owners have taken special care to provide for their guests by providing comfortable beds, high quality towels and extra sundries in the bathrooms. The home is clean and well furnished with plenty of room for our group of six. We ate in two nights of our stay, making full meals, and there was not a thing lacking in the kitchen that kept us from preparing and enjoying those meals. The home is located on the quiet end of Broughton Street, but you can easily walk to anything in the historic district. However there are two parking spaces for the home in the alley behind it, which is a HUGE bonus if you do have a car. You might notice that I keep referring to the property as "a home", because that is how my family and I felt during our visit...at home.
