About Thom Kuhns or Kathy Kuhns
We bought this house in 2001. It was built in 1958 and we basically gutted it and started from scratch. When we reached the bottom layer of paint it was turquoise so we decided to paint the 'new' house the same color. Everything was updated to current building codes. We added a dock and boat lift and had the seawall redone (2008). New wood floors in bedrooms in 2013.

Why Thom Kuhns or Kathy Kuhns chose St James City
Kathy is a Florida native and Thom has been here most of his life. We love the water and really never dreamed that we would be able to have a house on the water. We get there every chance we can and plan to retire there in a few years so you should enjoy our rental while you can!
What makes this Cottage unique
Even though it is close to the city of Cape Coral you feel that you are way out on an island. Our house is at the very tip of St. James City (southernmost). At night you hear the sounds of the water and really feel like you are on a deserted island. The fishing is fantastic. If you go out in the morning it is so easy to just come back in for lunch and a nap and go right back out on the boat. Our friends love to come with us for weekends of fishing, music, good times.

This was a peaceful and comfortable vacation stay.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay.
Perfect for a boater........
We just rented this property for a week. We were on the water in a boat every day but one. The location for a boater could not be better if you want to explore, cruise, or fish. We were very happy with property itself. There were some days that we did not bring back dinner so it was great that the Waterfront Restaurant was within walking distance. There is some type of business next door that has barges coming in and out of the canal. It was a little noisy. We were up early leaving in the boat each day, so it didn't bother us. It could be a problem for someone trying to sleep in or nap during the day. Overall, a great time and memories that my wife and will have forever.
Glad you enjoyed your time.
Upon arrival at property, the pictures online were accurate. A very cute little cottage! We were pleasantly surprised to find a full-sized washer and dryer. The kitchen was well-supplied with pots & pans, mixing/serving pieces and small appliances (we used the electric skillet & crockpot). The only thing it didn’t have was an instant pot! (Obviously missing to us bc we use ours almost daily!) I loved that we could use the spices and condiments left from prior tenants. We saw a few dolphins in the channel on our first morning there! The wildlife was interesting and the fish visible along the sea wall were pretty cool (HUGE sheepshead!) We enjoyed a day at Cayo Costa State Park via the Tropic Star ferry on the north end of the island (thanks to the owners info page on the fridge!). Would recommend this property to anyone wanting a week to just slow down!
How nice. It is a relaxing place to be and we’re glad the dolphin show proceeded as arranged!
Come back any time!
