Great place

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is great: beautifully decorated, clean, spacious, luminous and at a 5 min walk to the metro station. We loved the Japanese restaurant down the street ( the Udon con frutti di mare is delicious).

There are a couple of supermarkets near by really well stocked.

We had a lovely stay, thank you Alessio!!!

Excellent Accomodation!

  • 5 of 5

Had an excellent short break at Passione Romana in Rome. Paolo had booked a taxi for us from airport and was waiting for us when we arrived in the evening. Apartment was clean, stylish, well-appointed and spacious - plenty of room for two adults and four children. Particularly liked the espresso machine - a kettle would have been welcome for the tea drinkers though! Location was ideal - 5 minutes walk to a Metro and about 15 minutes walk to the Vatican. All in all, highly recommended!

Wonderful Property with a great location

  • 4 of 5

We loved the apartment. Clean, well maintained, spacious, great location, very modern. Everything worked out great and would rent this apartment again. It was close to metro, restaurants, stores, market, and the Vatican. The only drawback is the beds could use a bit more padding. I would give it a 4.5 out of 5.

Spacious, convenient, and centrally located!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay in this apartment in mid August 2016. We were three adults and two children and had more than enough room with two bedrooms (one with two double beds) and a separate living/dining area. The apartment was very spacious (especially for Rome!), clean, well equipped, and very well located within a few minutes walk to the metro and 20 mins walk to the Vatican Museum entrance. There was a grocery store about 2 blocks away (Conad) and many restaurants in the area. The apartment was air conditioned and our hosts provided a light breakfast (croissants, coffee, tea, juice) every morning. As an added bonus, they also arranged airport pick up - our driver (Carlo from Ostia, who is also an experienced tour guide) was at the airport to pick us up and then take us back a few days later to pick up our rental car. I would recommend this apartment to anyone wanting a short or long stay in Rome (the price was also excellent).

Dishonest Owner and Listing - Avoid

  • 1 of 5

I regularly stay at apartments instead of hotels when traveling internationally. Please note that this is the first review I have written of a critical nature, and I'm writing it to inform other potential renters of my own experience. The owner, Alessio, threatened to sue us if we wrote a bad review, and based on the reviews here for his apartment, I'm wondering how many of his past guests he also threatened. He also threatened to report us to the "Roman Authorities" during our stay after we inquired why he was asking us for cash upon arrival, when we'd already paid him in full. This review focuses on our customer service experience.

Notes about the apartment itself:

1. You will only get the number of towels for the number of guests that you reserved the space

2. The kitchen has some basic dishes, but for us the gas didn't work on the stove

3. There were no supplies - i.e., laundry detergent, sponges to clean the dishes, or kitchen towels. Plan to go shopping

4. AC: The apartment amenities says it has AC. In reality, the AC is in the 2 bedrooms, not the living room, diving area, & kitchen.

5. There are not 3 bedrooms

The night before we were due to depart, his sister showed up unannounced. Note that you might get random visits from the apartment owners without any advance notice. She wanted to collect cash for a Tax, which we thought had already been paid on our invoice. We asked if she could explain what this was, and she didn't know English very well, but insisted that it had not paid (although our invoice indicated it had). She called Alessio, and we asked him to explain. Since we had not been told of this additional tax anytime prior to arriving in Rome, we wanted to assure we weren't handing over Euro illegally. Alessio started screaming over the phone (literally) in Italian, said that he was going to speak Italian and if we didn't understand him, that wasn't his problem. He proceeded to yell that if we didn't pay his sister the additional tax right then, he'd report us to Roman authorities and make the rest of our stay difficult. This is also when he threatened to sue us if we wrote a poor review. They wasted 2 hours of our time in the apartment the last night we were there. HomeAway advised us to write a formal complaint against this owner, with which we will proceed. Alessio was unprofessional, extremely rude, and the apartment fell short of its description. You'll have a better holiday experience elsewhere.

Owner's Response: Dear Jennifer I'm sorry you've had all these problems but I do not agree with what you wrote. From our first conversations there was the maximum and mutual dialogue. So if something you considered that it could not be to your liking, you could say during your stay and would thus have had a more effective aid. As for the towels, we are providing for each guest, a set of three towels. Your order included the stay of two people. At the time of your arrival and without any news of you has added another guest for which it was not possible to program the supply of towels. Despite this, immediately, it was provided the set for the third guest. If you re-read the details of the description of the house it is well specified composition of the rooms with the layout of the beds. As regards the supply of soaps, as already reported in the description of the house, we provide the supply only of bath soaps and not to those from the kitchen. Finally regarding my threats they have arisen as a result of your refusal to pay local tax mandatory in all Italian structures and that in case of your failure to pay myself provvedeva to alert the police authorities. Here you copy the text of your written response given to me on Homeliday conversation: "Hello Alessio - thanks for your patience . I spoke with HomeAway and They have confirmed that the tax exemption Rome was not in the bill . have also you said that it can not demand payment without informing us when we booked the reservation . However , as this appears be a misunderstanding , we are happy to pay the fee of Martina . HomeAway recommends adding a warning about being tax payable on arrival in your contract . this is only a recommendation .." I'm sorry again that you might have had this negative experience but I strongly believe that your judgment comes from your own form of revenge on something must already be in your knowledge and that you do not mistakenly considered concrete. I also want to highlight that it is on this site and on other sites rental cottages my structure has obtained the totality of Thumbs much more realistic than what you may express. Council to Homeliday : before publishing reviews not true would be appropriate to request information.
