The most stunning beautiful island you could visit
We were a family of 5 with 2 children under 7/
Villa Thalia Katerina was a perfect property with breathtaking views and complete peace and quiet. It was one of 3 villas but you had complete privacy from the rest. This villa was in the quieter part of the island which suited us but you so need a car ( even though it says you don’t). The walk to the beach is about 30 mins down hill but up hill back is hard graft. It is 15 minutes from the airport, which we had a taxi from then a local cat hire place delivered a car to us which meant no hidden extra charges!! We drove up to Fiskardo which is a definite as it’s stunning, we booked a local room (villa romantza) for the night so we could enjoy the beaches and the waterfront restaurants, alongside the plethora of big boats!
We visited Myrtos beach, lake Melissani and saw the turtles in the bay at Argostoli all of which were well worth it. This island really is beautiful and all the pictures you see are genuinely that real.
The Only downside was a few things missing In the villa. Only 2 wine glasses, the hairdryer was a cheap travel one which was terrible so take your own. The air con was a bit hit and miss but when it worked (mainly only at night it was great). The mattress also was very firm so hard to sleep well. The towels weee very poor quality and very ‘scratchy’ so we tended to use our beach towels when we could.
This wouldn’t deter us from visiting again and we can’t wait to return. Thalia the owner was on hand nearly every day and always checked in to make sure we were alright.
Absolutely amazing property, close to airport, clean, gorgeous views across to Zante, beautiful pool. The owner ‘Thalia’ was lovely, called in to check we were happy and to ask if there was any thing else she could do for us. Would highly recommend, and would certainly pay a return visit

Villa Thalia was by far the nicest property my family and I stayed.
The Villa was nicely decorated and very spacious. All the furnishings are nice and comfortable, and the Kitchen was well equipped. Wonderful location with amazing views. We sat and watched the sun down and it was magical. We will definitely visit again.

Villa Thalia Katerina is situated in Trapezaki on the Greek island of Kefalonia.
Trapezaki Beach is long and sandy with the focus around a tiny harbor where locals keep their fishing boats. Strict building restrictions have prevented any building close to the beach so there is a very natural feel to it with the original charm remaining. There are a few tavernas and above the bay a couple of mini-markets.
Lourdas Bay is one of the largest bays of Kefalonia and is fringed by over 3 kms of sand and pebble beach. The area has a backdrop of pine forests and cypress trees which grow on the slopes of Mount Ainos. Irrigated by natural springs, the local area is famous for its fertile lands producing a variety of fresh vegetables so that many of the tavernas offer homegrown produce as well as freshly caught fish. Tavernas, cafes, bars, mini-markets and souvenir shops are sprinkled along the winding road down to Lourdas beach. Motor boats rental is also available.
Koroni is a very quiet sandy beach. Famous for its sand and therapeutic clay (you can mix up your own mud pack) which can be found below the rocks to the far side of the beach. One of the best ways to visit Koroni beach is to hire your own motor boat (no license required) from Katelios.
Katelios is a sleepy coastal village with sandy beach and small fishing harbour. Katelios is famous for its fresh fish tavernas that line the waterfront. There are several (low-key) bars, a couple of supermarkets and an exchange/car rental office. The beach rarely becomes busy, with the largest number of visitors being the loggerhead turtles who favour the soft sand for making a nest!
