My husband and I fell in love with this beautiful log home as soon as we saw it. In snowy November the house was warm and inviting with lovely views in every direction. Our family has spent countless beautiful days here together, and I am so happy to share this place with those who love this region of Maine as much as I do.
chris christoforo and rebecca christoforo purchased this chalet in 2007
The property is easy to get to, off the main road, close to area ski resorts. It is totally private. The home is beautifully decorated. The living room with wood stove was so cozy, warm and appealing. We kept the stove on just for the ambiance; there's nothing like a crackling fire and wood was plentifully provided. The kitchen is beautifully equiped; the bedrooms extremely comfortable; there was satellite TV, a hot tub, wireless Internet, lots of games, movies, books. The night sky from the deck of this lovely A frame was awash in stars that cannot ever be seen from the city. The mountains were brilliant with fall colors. This was truly a perfect getaway weekend, close to the Fryeburg Fair. We hope to return in the winter for another delightful stay.
This is really a great place for a weekend getaway in the mountains. Chris and Rebecca were a pleasure to work with and very responsive and accommodating to all of our needs. The cabin itself is very comfortable, cozy and clean. It is set in a very quiet, private location that is located about a 15-20 minute drive from town (20-25 from Sunday River), but there are a couple of small convenience stores less than a 5 minute drive away which will have most of your basic needs. There were 4 of us on our trip, but there is more than enough room for 6+ in the house. I would say it's a great place for kids as well, as the basement is almost a second living area with a TV, foosball, ping pong, etc... And the covered outdoor hot tub is a great touch!
All in all I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone, we will definitely we interested in staying here again!
As soon as we saw this property we immediately fell in love . Beautiful house , cozy atmosphere, fantastic views, quite location, what else would you want ?! We got true ME experience started with chopping the wood for the fire stove and finished with snow ball fight. Oh, and hot tub after long day of snowboarding... amazing. We will be back !
Nice cabin in the mountains. Cabin was real clean and cozy. Secluded but close to nearby town. Really enjoyed going on hikes and swimming at the nearby lake. Local people real friendly. We enjoyed going to the nearby farmers market for fresh produce. We will definitely will be coming back. We highly recommend this place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this well cared for home. We had a couple of rainy days, which we didn't mind because the space is so comfortable and well stocked with movies. There were so many gorgeous spots close by for hiking and kayaking. Chris supplied lots of info about the area and was very responsive to our emails. We are planning a return visit with friends this winter for hiking and snow shoeing. Thanks Chris!
Loved this home ! Pictures don't do justice, so much more charming & beautiful in real life. Tucked away on a peaceful property with mountain views. Home is well stocked with lots of supplies to make your stay an enjoyable one.
