About the property

Il Castellare Guest House

The Castellare Tuscany Guest House is an ancient building that is approximately 250 years old. Maybe it was an ancient mill located next to one of the most ancient and unique wooden water-gates in Italy, from the architect Leonardo Ximenes. The name Castellare, comes from the overlooking church that has the same name. In 1944 a German cannonade hit it in the centre, the roof and the walls were gone, but the people of San Giovanni reconstructed in a few days dragging all the material on foot, today it is considered a welcoming symbol. The same destiny has been given to my house that has been completely reconstructed by the Batoni family. With honour and pride of this rebirth, I have named it Il Castellare. The Castellare guest house places at your disposal 2 apartments, with two master bedrooms, each one with different architectural shapes and stylish furnishings. Always keeping an elegant and unmistakeable old-fashion style, all the bedrooms are equipped with modern commodities, 2 kitchens and 2 detached bathrooms with shower, toilet, air conditioning (heating) and TV with DTT. We also have interconnected bedrooms, ideal for the family or groups of friends. The name "casotti" has been given in honour to the small houses that surround the Castellare, where, during the holidays, family and friends get together to spend days preparing delicious barbecues.

About Elisa

I am Elisa Batoni, I have recently opened this accommodation in the family home, acquired from one of my ancestors, Pompeo Batoni, approximately 200 years ago. I have worked for 20 years in Communications and have travelled during many years. I love the well-being and nature, and would like to pass this Tuscan harmony and good-living to our guests.

Elisa purchased this villa in 1800

Why Elisa chose Vicopisano

Because it is an enchanted place, almost like an exhibition, magic and typical of Tuscany. Because I would like to let everyone know about these enchanted places, these glimpses of Tuscany that are not shown in the tourist guides and are actually the ones that best represent our culture.

What makes this villa unique

What makes me fall in love are: the view, the park, the garden, and the flowers. When I travel abroad I usually stay in the city or in an apartment, there's always something missing and it was the view of this place, colourful and unique, filled with all the shades of Tuscany. The closest and nicest sea to us is the Calafuria, in the Livorno province.

In Ordnung

  • 4 of 5

  • 3 of 5

Owner's Response: You have booked the apartment 1 km from the swimming pool, and is write clear on the description. It cost less money, and is big enouth for big family. Photos are clear and they show the reality. You have put music on hight volume, and people want to relax, not to have discoteque on the swimming pool. Second point, you stay 2 weeks, and the gru caming one day because we have a technical problem to resolv with the water. Another point, you never respect the rules of the house, and you jump and scriming all the time on the garden and you disturb people want to relax. You should respect the other guest and be educated when you go out.

Wonderful stay in the lovely Vicopisano

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at this lovely apartment in Vicopisano. Elisa and Stefano are so friendly and were brilliant at giving us advice on places to visit. The pool, which is only 10 minutes away provides a lovely relaxing spot and the courtyard outside the flat is a peaceful spot where we enjoyed eating our meals. The bar just around the corner is really friendly and the food is very good. Vicopisano is a lovely ancient medieval village with plenty of character and everything you might need shops-wise. The flat is very nicely decorated. The washing machine developed a fault, but Elisa and Stefano were so helpful and we were able to use the machine at the main house. Vicopisano is perfectly located to explore northern Tuscany and there are many things to do nearby. The perfect spot for a 'Get away from it all' holiday. We had a wonderful time, thank you so much.

Muy bien.

  • 5 of 5

Excelente

  • 5 of 5

Hola.
