A beautifully renovated property in a great location for our party.
It's so difficult to find a suitable property for the number and diverse ages of our family party
(18 months up to 92!) but this one was ideal and the owners really helpful. Would love to return another time, but hopefully with better weather!
Lovely and modern with lots of communal space
Lovely property well maintained and decorated. Would have been nice to know before paying deposit that there are only 9 double rooms so even though it sleeps 24 it should be made clearer that extra beds and room sharing will be needed after 18people capacity
Thank you for your review Sophie, however to avoid misunderstanding for future guests I would like to point out that this property is advertised as having 9 bedrooms which will sleep 18 guests so therefore any extra guests over 18 would need to share a bedroom.
Lovely well kept property with character and modern facilities
The property was large, spacious yet cosy. Perfect for our New Year’s stay with 10 adults 4 kids and 4 babies. A beautiful location and pubs and restaurants very close by. Hot tub was brill and little play park and orchard farm was great for the kids. Would definitely recommend
Thank you for your lovely review.
We hope you can return again in the future!
Ideal venue for a large group wanting high quality and excellent facilities
We were a group of 16 adults who wanted a high quality venue with ample accommodation including en-suite and a large communal area. This is exactly what we got (and more) from the Old Milking Parlour Grande! The converted milking parlour is finished to a high standard and had the feel of a hotel thanks to the luxury bedding and towels. The kitchen was particularly well equipped with crockery, cutlery and utensils. There was an American-style fridge/freezer which was sufficiently large to hold all our food for the weekend!
Most of all, we really enjoyed having such a large communal area to share. The dining table is an excellent feature, allowing our large party to sit down to meals together. There was also enough comfortable seating to sit and relax in after dinner.
The hot tub was an absolute bonus! And we really appreciated the flexibility with regards to check-in and check-out. Thank you for a fantastic venue and for accommodating all our needs! We had a truly memorable stay.
Highly, Highly, Highly Recommend
We could not have been more impressed with the lodgings, the cleanliness, and especially with Vic and Rachel. We had a wedding party with about 45 people, with only about 16 staying for 3 nights from various countries. Vic initiated meeting with us, and ended up saving the day. We needed tables and chairs brought from a caterer close by, and not only did he loan us his van, but the muscle to put it all back in at the end. We also thought since we had others staying next to us that we may have been a bit loud at times, but they commented that inside it was very quiet. The grande is fantastic for large parties, with a lot of bathrooms, and bedrooms with nice separation from the large dining/kitchen area for privacy when needed. The hen party was the night prior in the "Basement", which also was lovely. I can't say enough about how clean everything was. Kudos to the housekeepers!! Thank you Rachel and Vic for making this a memory that was fantastic!
Beautifully appointed property perfect for a large group
We had a lovely weekend at the MPG. We were a large family group with several young children and found the property to be perfect for our needs. We particularly liked the long dining table and benches and the fact that most rooms were ensuite. The children loved the play area and the tour feeding the animals with Farmer Vic - thoroughly recommend Oakerthorpe!
