A Great place for a family break

  • 4 of 5

We'd picked Oakerthorpe because of the location and the reviews. We were a family group from all over so this was a prefect place for us to enjoy a weekend together. The accommodation was very high quality, clean and with all the equipment you could want. It was great that we could all eat together at the amazing dining table - the hub of our stay.

Everyone boasts about customer service but its actions that speak louder than words. On the first night we were surprised the security lights on the drive stayed on all night and made the ground floor rooms in the Old Milking Parlour very light. We contacted Vic the next morning and he was round very quickly to check what the issue was and then sorted it. Brilliant. No intrusive light for the rest of the stay.

The younger members of the group enjoyed feeding the animals with Farmer Vic and kept talking about it.

Thanks. We'd definitely recommend to other family groups looking for a place to stay together.

Lovely accommodation

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed at the Old Milking Parlour Christmas 2016. Modern, clean, comfortable accommodation. We all had a fabulous time and I highly recommend. The flood lit football pitch was also a hit with the kids and adults. The owner is very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely return.

Beautifully presented and so clean as ever, this was our 2nd time at the Old Milking Parlour

  • 5 of 5

We all really enjoyed our stay and especially Vic showing the children the animals again, much appreciated. We did have a bit of a problem with the heating, but Vic was on the case and I am sure it will be fine for the next guests. I have already recommended this property to friends and we hope to be back soon!
