This home is perfect for resting, relaxation, restoring. It is fantastic for preparing meals as a group and having a decadent dinners with close friends or colleagues. This home is for mature guests who can appreciate the peace and serenity of this bucolic setting.
There are three buildings on the property and you will have access to two ( the main house and gym/studio) plus all the amenities. The third building is the proprietors who maybe on premise and may periodically need access to the basement.
There are many great homes in this area. Although our home is truly a retreat. I once wanted to own a spa and the closest I have come is adding endless amenities. The grounds are beautifully landscaped allowing for a walking meditation admiring the wonders of nature.
Using our outdoor walking labyrinth calms your mind as you weave into the center and out. Adjacent is the hot tub to soak your weary bones.
The outdoor living room cabana is equipped with a gorgeous stone fireplace ( we provide the wood for your convenience use as much as you like additional fee does apply). A glass of wine and the flames of a fire are a great way to end a summers day. Lounge by the pool and or revitalize in the sauna, you choose. Keep in mind the pool is open seasonally.
We have a king, full, queens and one twin mattress on the second floor (which sleep seven people). The porch has two twins and a full mattress and can sleep four. The heated porch is perfect for overflow, there is a full bed and two twin mattresses. There is one queen size bed and a futon in the studio above the gym. Keep in mind the outbuilding is a rustic experience and does not contain a bathroom.
More simplified :
3 twin mattresses
( several air mattresses)
The only question you will be asking yourself each day is which means should I use today to relax? Perhaps take a bath in the claw foot tub surrounded by candles in the master bedroom? Or indulge in a steam shower? Or lounge on the deck off the master bedroom? Or do you love to cook?
Our sunlight kitchen with Viking stove with 6 burners and griddle allows for plenty of creativity and hours of entertaining.
One charming feature of being in the Garrison area are dirt roads and driveways. We are preserving this feature and have a dirt driveway (A wet spring could mean a little mud).
Wireless internet and cable are available.
We are a two minute drive to the Metro North Hudson line train station or a 15 minute walk.
Lastly, we thrive on feedback and suggestions only in this way can we continue to enhance the beauty of this retreat space. If you rent with us know that you can contact us anytime to assist in making your stay delightful.
Some of our guests have rented this home for corporate retreats, special small birthday parties celebrating 30's, 40's, 50's ( groups of 8-10 ) etc,as headquarters for a local wedding ( the bridal party gets ready at the house and heads out to the event) and more.
Lots of options. What are you waiting?

I am an entrepreneur as well as a health and wellness keynote speaker, workshop leader , consultant and coach. I have authored three books called ' How to Stay Sane When Life isn't Tools for the Mind, Body and Spirit.' Vacationing is one tool I use to stay sane. Travel affords me the opportunity to step away from my life to step into my life. The monastic quality of voyaging fosters traveling light. Have you ever noticed that when you travel the most serendipitous things occur, well these occur everyday in our lives as well. Whether or not we stop to take note is another story. I hope you enjoy the wonders of traveling light and sharing in the gift of this retreat space. It was created with the sole purpose of having fun with friends and family.
The Owner purchased this farmhouse in 2000
We started looking for a home as close as 30 minutes to Manhattan but could not find what we needed. Upon entering the town of Garrison we knew we had found home. Imagine a rural setting within one hour of Manhattan. Plus we are a two minute car ride to the train station. Having the ex -governor who is an outdoor enthusiast helps in preservation of this charming town.
Privacy is one of the many features enjoyed at this home. The lot is considered to be flagpole shaped which means we have a long driveway and the neighbors are not pressed up beside us. The 50 acres and horses across the street are an additional bonus.
We stayed at Claudine's home for a VERY long weekend (just under a week) with varying guest numbers throughout our stay (of all ages) for a family reunion this past summer. We have been returning to Claudine's home annually each summer for almost ten years - as her home is so charming.
This past year we had 11 sleep-over adults & 4 guests (who came from Manhattan in 1 hr.) just for the day of camaraderie, BBQ/food galore, sunning, swimming, & laughter. The kitchen was ideal for our foodie group & its size allowed many to join in the prep & cooking; with great fun for all. The amenities (photos are accurate) further enhancing everyone's experience: since there is something for everyone to do on site (or kayaking; hiking; cultural excursions to DIA or Boscobel... nearby).
This year, the very day prior to our arrival, Claudine anxiously contacted me that her refrigerator had just run into problems & an urgent repair would take 3 days until service would arrive (parts & labor). As she knew that I was entertaining family with non-stop celebratory meals, she reached out to brainstorm an immediate solution. Needless to say, she is the consummate owner/host: her solution was brilliant & immediate: she actually purchased a brand new full-size refrigerator as the emergency "fix" for the kitchen - which was already installed prior to our check-in arrival. [Once the larger permanent built-in regular kitchen refrigerator was repaired, she planned to move the new one elsewhere (basement - I believe) after our departure.] We never lost a second of quality kitchen time or worried about perishables in the heat of the summer (for our delicious steaks, ribs, fish, shellfish, etc.). Her quick action saved the festive days/week!!! That is how responsive she is & focused on her guests' complete enjoyment.
Finally, a family favorite is the outdoor stone fireplace where we light up a fire almost every night (even in July) and enjoy story-telling, Smores, laughter, and new memories to cherish forever.
Thanks, Claudine for "saving" our reunion without a single bump or "wrinkle". We're definitely returning for our 10th summer this year and are looking forward to it!
We stayed here with about 14 people over a weekend. The house and grounds are beautiful. The house has a large, well-maintained, and functional kitchen with every amenity as well as a large living room with a stove burner, which we used throughout the night. There are plenty of beds and we all slept comfortably. Claudine was very welcoming and responsive to any questions we had throughout the weekend. Highly recommended.
We loved getting to know Claudine’s beautiful home. When we walked in from the snow we were greeted by a welcoming fire in the potbelly stove. Claudine was courteous, welcoming and very responsive. We were able to comfortably sleep a team of nine between the main house and a well outfitted converted barn. We’re looking forward to coming back!
We recently spent a weekend at this Garrison, NY home. The farmhouse has a lot of charm and character. Everything was clean and well maintained. It was a great set-up for our group of 5 adults, while visiting our son who is a cadet at West Point. The house is well equipped, and we genuinely enjoyed the indoor AND the outdoor living space. We did not use the workout facility or the separate sleeping quarters. There is a grocery store, a pharmacy and restaurants 5 minutes away in Cold Spring. We even had a cookout and served hamburgers to 20 guests on Friday night of our stay, which was easy to pull off - good gas grill, outdoor fireplace, great indoor kitchen and dinning areas inside and outside. The home is about a 20 minute drive to West Point, so that was easy for our group. Claudine was easy to work with, and we will definitely plan to stay here again.
Claudine is one of the most accommodating owners and truly concerned about making your stay the best it can be. The home is stocked with everything that you could need as if staying in a hotel. All linens, pool towels, paper products, shower products provided . Outside covered pool cabana was a treat to relax .
Claudine's home is a stunning country retreat. It is in great condition and the perfect charming getaway home. Tucked back in a private clearing the home is a wonderful way to experience upstate New York without traveling to far from the city. Claudine keeps the place in great condition and goes out of her way to make you and your guests feel comfortable. We had a wonderful experience and would love to go back there.
