Loved the 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms..it was just like the pictures depicted..the owner met us on site and walked through the property with us..he did mention when we met him that he did have the rights to enter the property while we were there...and he did while we we're out for the day...turning off the ceiling fans, the window air conditoners...this made me a tad uncomfortable having him enter the home while we were out..Also we were told we only got to have the hot tub heated two nites, not every nite ..usually when you have a contract on a rental you get all it has to offer while you're there. He was very accommodating...I just thought it odd he came in while we were out, and restricted the heated hot tub. I have rented so many vrbo properties and never experienced that before...we had 7 girls here and it was nice having all the bathrooms this property offered...but didn't like the owner living right behind us, with us swimming and hanging out on the patio .but again Henk was very accommodating..
This House is a beauty! Which is unfortunate my friends and I didn't have the greatest experience. Upon arrival, I was not counted out the amount of items in which were in the home (utensils, cups etc). Next when I first read the description on the website, it stated that smoking was allowed only in the garden area. What attracted me most about this house was the pool and hot tub, little did I know, there were time restrictions on the usage of hot tub which were NOT included in the description. I was very upset to learn my friends and I were only able to use the hot tub after sun down (approx. 8pm- 11pm). Not to mention the pool was not heated and the weather unfortunately didn't permit us to want to use the pool. Day 1 Henk (the owner) and a repair man interrupted my mid morning by entering the house (my room) in order to fix the fan (which would have been fine but we had no notice of him coming into the house). Night 1 Henk crept up on my friends and I while one of my friends was having a smoke in what we thought was the designated smoking area (very inappropriate, he should have called, rather than sneak up on us in unfamiliar territory, talk about scary). This trip was suppose to be a celebration and relaxing getaway. I felt as if we were walking on egg shells the entire time (not cool). My friends and I all work very demanding jobs and put forth a large amount of funds to make this trip happen just to be treated poorly. I felt terrible because I hyped up this venue and convinced them this was the perfect place. All but one of the previous reviews were so great so I felt confident in my choice. The list continues.... There were no smoke detectors throughout the entire house (I have pictures and have already contacted someone to report him, my Boyfriend works for PG&E and was not pleased). Upon checkout, I was so worried about leaving the house a mess (although we paid the cleaning fee, this should not have been a worry), my friends and I went through and basically did the cleaning (kitchen, dishes, towels in washer etc). Now the cherry on top..upon checkout Henk just told me to leave the key in the mail box. NO final walk through with him. Said He would call me after the cleaning people were done, never did. THen I received an email 3 days later!! Stating 1 small spoon, 1 large spoon and a dining room napkin were missing. I know for a fact nothing was removed during our stay. He then said I owed him $500!!!! WHAT A JOKE! Save yourself the stress!
We rented this home for our family to celebrate our daughter's graduation from PLNU. This is a great house because the 3 master suites are huge with their own bathroom. The house is well stocked with everything you need. It was immaculate. We love the pool and hot tub and Henk was very accommodating to our group needs. The only downside of this house is there are lots of stairs (if mobility is an issue for you) and the parking is a bit challenging on busy Rosecrans. Otherwise, it's a beautiful home, well maintained, clean, comfortable, roomy, and furnished well. Thank you Henk for a wonderful stay!
I did not end up being able to stay at this rental, so I can't speak to the accommodations. But I did have a very frustrating time with Henk the owner. After confirming my reservation with Henk over e-mail for a weekend in March, I sent him the security deposit and signed rental agreement. Two weeks later I got a letter in the mail returning my security deposit to me and informing me that my requested dates were no longer available. I tried to reach Henk for an explanation by e-mail and phone, but he never returned any of my calls/e-mails. I understand that there was probably a legitimate reason this fell through, but I was really frustrated by the fact that he didn't give me any heads up via phone or e-mail once he knew he was going to have to cancel my reservation. Especially since I reached out to him multiple times to confirm if he had received my deposit and contract successfully. It really put me in a bad position with trying to find another location last minute.
We met our son and his family in San Diego to provide a respite from the gray, dreary February Seattle weather. The house was a great choice, providing ample room for all of us (4 adults and 3 children). The location is super for taking advantage of the San Diego attractions, which for us included USS Midway and the world-famous zoo. In addition, the house is a short drive from Lego Land, a must-see for youngsters. The house is well-appointed, and Henk, the owner, was great to work with, responding to our every question and request. Would definitely recommend this rental!
This property made a great base camp for my extended family while we attended our son's graduation from Basic Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot - San Diego.
It is a beautifully modernized older property with plenty of living space. My extended familiy -- including our parents and our niece & nephew with their kids were all able to stay in one place.
It is very stoutly built, so the bedrooms were very quiet.
The pool and patio gave us a great place to relax together - much better than the hassle of coordinating a large group with children and older folks in hotel rooms and restauants.
They have a fantastic barbeque grill which we used several times to avoid the long waits and hassle of getting a large group seated in a restaurant. We did go out once and regretted not staying "home" and cooking for ourselves.
The pool and patio are beautiful and a great way to relax after running around all day at MCRD. Our friends who were staying in hotels were able to join us for dinners so we could all hang out together.
The manager Henk was great. He is readily accessible to help with questions and issues. - a very pleasant and interesting fellow.
