About the property

3 Bedroom, 2 full Bathrooms, Sleeps 7

Recently featured in the Providence Journal's 'Neighborhood Of The Week' article, wonderful three bedroom two bath summer cottage in a great location, a block from the beach. Originally built in 1938 with all the charm and upgrades. Why drive or walk far, while others say they are close, we are within one block from Scarborough Beach, (see Google maps), and on the bus line. Large front and back three season sun porches with ocean views to relax, read or eat. Master bedroom retreat on second floor with ocean views and ocean facing deck. Sunny and modern fully equipped kitchen and family room, cable TV/DVD/stereo etc. Large shed house for bike or beach storage. Outside enclosed hot/cold shower, 4 car parking, grill, washer/dryer etc. Read our reviews.

Our home is surrounded by lots of activities. Restaurants are within walking distance, mini or regular golf, go-carts, batting cage, skating etc. are a few minutes drive. Short drive to historic Newport mansions, Port Galilee fish markets, Providence outlets shops, Aquarium, Casinos, Watch Hill, Mystic Seaport..

There are all 5 five star rated reviews just this season, 'This house was even better than we had imagined. We loved feeling the ocean breezes in the bright and sunny screened in porch with ocean view. The place was extremely clean and felt like a home rather than a rental. The house was beautifully decorated with original canvas art and had a great home theater system in the family room for the nights we rented movies. We loved being so very close to the beach. I would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone.'

About a 200 Sq Ft shed house for play or storage like bikes, beach gear etc. We keep it locked with personal items but it can be opened with prior notice. Internet access is with your wireless card or modem and not available via service at the house. Air conditioning is rarely needed since the house is generally cool with the windows open and ocean breezes. For security reasons, we keep the a/c units locked. If things unexpectedly heat up you can put them in the windows but we would need notice to unlock since we aren't local. Rubbish removal is only on Mondays so there could be garbage from the prior week. We pay them extra to pick up from the side of the house so you don't have to bring anything to the street.

Outstanding property, house and location!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay. The house is wonderful. It was perfect for accommodating our family. Very nicely decorated, well kept up, charming and clean. You can tell when an owner uses the house themselves and cares unlike many rentals. It was very comfortable like a home away from home. From the front porch we could relax and watch everyone renting from further away lugging all their stuff to the beach. In the back sun room we could relax, talk, drink and eat with cool breezes and ocean views. The family room had ample seating, cable, wifi and a big screen TV. The upstairs deck was for laying out, drinking and talking with cool breezes and even more ocean views. We had lots of parking, a washer and dryer and an enclosed outside shower which I mostly liked to use.

The beach was right there hardly a walk at all. It was nice since we could easily go back to the house for food and drinks or if we forgot something without dragging tons of stuff. If we wanted to we could also buy food and drink at the beach.

Location, location, location, we could literally walk to breakfast, lunch and dinners everyday. Within 1-3 miles there are supermarkets, lots of shopping, Port Judith, ferry's, kayaking, clamming, golf etc. and within and hour or so we could be in Providence, Boston, wineries, casinos, Newport etc. and the list goes on and on.

We give this and A+ and we'll be going back year after year! (almost don't want to tell anyone about it).

Amazing house and location!

  • 5 of 5

I'm a student at URI who has been living here since September and it's great! I love coming home from a stressful day of classes and being able to enjoy the amazing ocean views from this house. The ocean facing deck on the second floor has great views of Scarborough Beach - perfect for catching a sunrise or sunset! Every room is very open and lets in a lot of natural light (there are blinds for when you don't want as much light). Everything is modern and updated but still has a very beachy feel and that's saying something since i'm here during the coldest months of the year! I would definitely recommend staying here!

Relaxing Beach Stay

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed here for a week during our beach vacation to Narragansett / Scarborough. The house was clean and comfortable, and was a perfect size for 3 adults and 3 small children. The all seasons room was great for family dinners and enjoying the ocean breeze. The location is perfect, short walk to the beach. The owners were very accommodating and easily reached. Had a great time and hope to come back!

Beautiful and relaxing week!

  • 5 of 5

What an adorable and comfortable cottage! My daughters and I spent a week in July enjoying the cool ocean breezes, great views on a very quiet street. The home is well-maintained and clean which is always a concern in staying anywhere else but your own home. There was enough room for everyone but my favorite was the master bedroom suite( I call it that because of how spacious it is with it's own bathroom and fantastic view from it's own deck!)

Our favorite beach in Rhode Island is Scarborough Beach which is pretty much a 5 minute walk down the street. We couldn't have had it better!

Wonderful house short walk to beach

  • 5 of 5

The house is very well-kept with a nice back porch dining area perfect for relaxing, eating and reading. The master bedroom upstairs has terrific floral art, and a deck. Our two teens also liked their rooms. Would happily stay again if we are ever near the area. Great seafood restaurants also
